SKINCARE | Beetox Manuka Honey and Bee Venom Serum + Giveaway

After two weeks use, once a day

One skin care product that I've fallen head over heels for recently is the Beetox Manuka Honey and Bee Venom Serum*. I briefly mentioned it in my July Favourites post where I promised a full review of the product and after much anticipation, here it finally is. The science behind Beetox is extremely interesting and the product itself contains a lot of fascinating ingredients - so I apologise in advance for science-y terms and I will try and explain them the best I can.

Branded as Beetox's "hero product" of the range, the newly launched product contains both Bee Venom and Manuka Honey UMF®20+. Beetox is the first skin care range that contains the powerful UMF®20+ which stands for Unique Manuka Factor. UMF® has been praised for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which means that it's an effective soother for acne-prone individuals - the higher the UMF® the higher the antibacterial activity.

The UK based skin care brand contains Purified Bee Venom which has been proven to be more potent and sustainable than Raw Bee Venom. The Bee Venom is extracted using a special process where the bees are not harmed in any way and you can read about the process on their Facebook page. Considering Beetox uses Bee Venom, the brand does not recommend their products to those who are allergic or react to bee stings. The oil-free serum has been designed the reach the deeper layers of the skin's dermis (where the majority of my scars are). Beetox helps to refine the texture of the skin by regenerating the cells quicker to help reduce the appearance of scars, fine lines, wrinkles and large pores.

Since using Beetox I've noticed that my scarring has faded a lot. The before/after picture above shows just two weeks use of the serum (I haven't taken any recently as I've moved out my university accommodation so the lighting is different which makes the photos look weird) and you can see that my most prominent scars have indeed faded. I've had my acne scars for around five years now and no other product has faded them as quickly as this one. As well as doing a wonderful job on pigmentation, the serum is also hydrating, balancing, soothing and I've noticed that my skin is more calm after application. It does have a strong scent to it - one that reminds me of "old lady perfume" - but it's not something that I actively dislike.

Although packaging isn't the be all and end all of using a product, this one is definitely worthy of a mention. Not only does it look stunning on my dressing table, it's also extremely practical too. It comes with a pipette applicator which means that not a single drop of the product is wasted. I only need a small amount to cover my entire face and although I've been using this product everyday for over four weeks, I've only used around a quarter of the bottle. The bottle is glass which unfortunately means that it isn't that practical for travelling however, I took it away on holiday with me and it didn't smash.

As you can see from the photo above, I have two bottles of Beetox which means that yes, I will be giving one of these wonder serums away. You can probably tell from my review that I absolutely adore this product and I really don't think my skin could be without it. It's calmed it down and reduced my scarring and pigmentation fast - and I can't wait to give one of you the opportunity to try it out too. To enter, you must be a UK resident and you must fill out the Rafflecopter form below. Good luck!
You can buy the Beetox Manuka Honey and Bee Venom Serum here where it retails for £45. You can also have a look at the rest of the Beetox range here which includes a face mask and a moisturiser. The products are expensive and they do sit in the high end category however here, you are most definitely getting what you pay for and like I've said, it's lasted me a long time so far.

Have you tried anything from the Beetox range before?
*Both bottles were PR Samples. One for me to trial and one for me to giveaway.
