Meadowhall beauty haul



On Saturday I took a trip over the Meadowhall with my mum. Despite being an ambassador for the shopping centre, it's rare that I get to go over there (unless it's for an event) which is a shame. If you haven't been to Meadowhall before then let me tell you that it's absolutely huge. Everything is under one roof - including the wonderful food court - so it's perfect for the dreary weather the UK often sees.  

I spent quite a bit of money and although I bought a lot of clothes, I decided to just show you the beauty products. I'm still not great at photographing clothes so if anyone has any tips or ideas, do let me know in the comments below. But yes, beauty wise I decided to splash out on a couple of products that I've wanted for a while. I'm also currently decided whether or not to invest in Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair... I've purchased quite a few things recently - oh, the joys of working and no longer being on a student budget - so expect lots of hauls on this blog over the coming months.

I was actually sent this lipstick in the shade Frambourjois which is a beautiful red shade. It's quite vibrant and out there - something I'm not - so I decided to buy a more muted, everyday shade. The formula of these lipsticks is one that I've been waiting years for. They apply beautifully onto the lips as they're creamy and they're so lightweight that you don't even know you're wearing them. Since purchasing Nude-ist, I've bought another. And I plan on getting the entire collection.

The main reason I decided to go to Meadowhall is because they have a Models Own Bottleshop. On Saturday, the new range was released into Bottleshops and I knew I had to pick up another shade. I've actually reviewed and swatched three polishes from this range here and Radiant Pink is without a doubt my absolute favourite. It just screams Barbie. 

This is my all-time favourite foundation. It's full coverage, comfortable, blendable, long lasting and lightweight on the skin. I already have two bottles in 25 but decided I needed a new shade now winter is approaching. Usually, I'd stick to 25 as at university I'd constantly be fake tanning. But now I'm going to be embracing my naturally pale skin. You can see before/after comparison photos here.

Can you believe I've never owned a MAC eyeshadow before?! It's crazy and I have to admit that I am ashamed. I decided to buy Woodwinked as it's a shade I've been eyeing up for absolutely ages. It's a golden Pearl colour that I most definitely did not need as I have plenty of them. But you know, I couldn't resist. I actually walked out of Debenhams and said "no, I don't need these" before my mum persuaded me to go and get it. Such an enabler! She just wanted to use it...

I have wanted Origins GinZing moisturiser ever since it was released, mainly because of the smell. I finally decided to invest because I've been switching between day time moisturisers for a few months now and I knew I needed to settle on one. GinZing is a hydrating yet lightweight gel moisturiser that smells like Terry's Chocolate Orange. It instantly perks up the skins and leaves it ready and waiting for make up application.

I also bought the moisturiser in a set which comes with the brand's Clear Improvement Mask. On the day I also received a mini gift set because I purchased a moisturiser. The gift set came with deluxe samples of Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream, Origins Drink Up Hydrating Mask and Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash. Quite a bargain if you ask me...

Lush Spa event at Meadowhall










On Sunday I headed over to Meadowhall after closing hours for a Lush Spa blogger preview event. I must admit, it was strange being in the centre after hours. When we first arrived, the store was closed and in darkness. I starting panicking that I had the wrong date, time and venue. But we soon noticed candles flickering away inside. The store was opened and we was greeted by relaxing music. As I mentioned, the store was in complete darkness - minus a few candles - so some of my photos were off. However the atmosphere was incredible. And although it was a store, you'd have thought it was a treatment room.

We were offered fruit infused waters by our hosts, Lindsey, Natalie and Fauve and I opted for orange and raspberry which tasted delicious. It was very refreshing! The other choice available was cucumber and mint. There was also cakes and Jammy Dodgers on offer throughout the evening. I'm supposed to be on a graduation diet but I couldn't refuse. It'd been a long day.

There were three treatments available for us to try: Validation Facial, The Spell and The Comforter. Becky and Carrieanne chose the Validation Facial, Rosie and Rose decided on The Spell and myself and Sian opted for The Comforter. 

Validation Facial, 60 minutes £75

The Comforter starts with a gorgeous-smelling scrub. The scrub itself is unique to the spa so the Meadowhall ladies created their own version which was delicious. The scrub wasn't harsh, but it really got to work on the skin. All this time, the massage-motion was taking place. Afterwards a body wash was applied, followed by a body conditioner. After this there was the massage bar. The treatment was done by the lovely Natalie who had a lot of the same interests at me. We nattered about books and it made the whole experience much more pleasant. 

There's no denying that the prices are expensive but after having a mini taster myself, I honestly think the treatments are worth the money. The Lush Spa is more than just a spa, it's an experience. There's the beautiful music, the gorgeous atmosphere and the treatment itself that doesn't just leave your body feeling and looking great, but your mind too. It completely eased all of my troubles and I left feeling like I could take on the world. That night I also slept extremely well.

We were allowed to take a few samples home and also given the opportunity to shop at our own leisure. I ended up picking up the Honey Bee bath bomb and the Miranda soap for my sister's new bathroom. The samples included in our goody bag were the Ro's Argan Body Conditioner*, Full of Grace Serum Bar*, You Snap The Whip Body Butter*, Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie* and a Big Blue bath bomb.*

Meadowhall's Lush isn't a spa store itself but the closest one available is Leeds. I'm already planning a spa day away with my mum for Christmas! Lush Meadowhall are offering a spa experience on September 21 from 6pm - 7:30pm. Ladies Night at Meadowhall


Last week, myself and a few other Meadowhall Ambassador Bloggers headed down to the shopping centre for their annual Ladies Night. With discounts, pampering sessions and celebrities, the night promised to be a spectacle. We started off with a little corner inside the wonderful Caffe Rizzoli where we had a mini catch up session and were offered more prosecco than our mouths could handle, as well as a variety of different canopies. Fast forward a few minutes and it was time to interview and meet the lovely Amy Childs.

As a big TOWIE fan, the fact that Amy Childs and Ferne McCann were there was enough to send me crazy. Amy was a total sweetheart, answering all of our questions, telling us she liked our nail polish, and giving us her full attention. We were then allowed to take a few photos with her before she proceeded to meet the rest of the crowd. I met Ferne a little bit later on and managed to take a selfie with her, she was lovely and extremely beautiful.







Afterwards, we headed upstairs to have a look at the UK's first Polaroid Dress which was being developed throughout the night. I sadly didn't get a picture of the finished dress but I'll let you know if I find one. My mugshot is on there! After this, we ventured towards the Beauty Spot for some pampering, and spotted some dancing grannies on the way - very strange but also a nice surprise!

Ladies Night promised fantastic discounts with fabulous pampering, and although the discounts were incredible (20% off at Boux Avenue, 30% off at The Body Shop and many more), the pampering sadly wasn't quite spot on. A lot of the ladies were booked up, which is understandable considering the amount of people at the event. I did however, manage to get a wonderful hand massage from one of the lovely ladies at Lush (Lindsey) and afterwards, I had to go out and buy their Strawberry Feels Forever massage bar, it's incredible (and smells like the discontinued Yummy Yummy Yummy shower gel).

But nonetheless, I had a wonderful time at the event and managed to grab some bargains. I bought a new lingerie set from Boux Avenue and a nail polish from Illamasqua. I also got a few freebies too! The best part of the evening though was getting to spend time with some of favourite bloggers. Hair consultation and style by Aveda in Debenhams, Meadowhall






Yesterday I took a little visit to Meadowhall to sample Aveda's hair consultation and hair style service that they offer in Debenhams. Seeing as I'm now a Meadowhall ambassador, I thought it was about time I drove on the motorway considering I'm going to visiting the centre often. Although I've been driving nearly four years, I've never properly driven on the motorway, so needless to say it was pretty scary. Well, the lorries were anyway (anyone else think they should have their own lane?!) 

I arrived at Aveda and was greeted by a lovely lady and offered a cup of their Tea Ritual. I've only ever had "normal tea" but this caffeine-free herbal blend was surprisingly beautiful. A little tart at first, but soon it was soothing and relaxing. Following this was the hair consultation where I found out that I have fine/flat hair that's dry at the ends but in good condition. The products in the first image are the ones that were recommended to me and I got to have a little play with them - let me tell you this, they smell incredible.

I was then treated to Aveda's Stress-Relieving Hand Ritual which is a mini hand massage. I'd never had a massage before so this really was a lovely surprise. Using the Stress Fix Body Creme (which I can still smell on me now!), I was massaged and left feeling relaxed and uplifted.

After this, I had a mini blow dry and the Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair, Pure Abundance Style Prep and Phomollient Styling Foam were all applied to my hair beforehand. My hair was left feeling soft and bouncy and the style was held all day. I then had my hair curled which is something that I haven't done since cutting it short. I was incredibly impressed with how it looked and how well the style held throughout the day (and night, when I went out with friends). 

The visit was lovely and I felt all nice and pampered when I left. What surprised me the most was how friendly and kind the sales assistants were. We've all had bad experiences with them, but I was never once pressured into buying anything, and then certainly knew their stuff and what they were talking about. The lady who styled my hair also used to be a hairdresser so you know you're getting a good experience.

I was sent away with beautiful, bouncy hair and a bag filled with goodies, which you can see in the second image above. Yesterday morning saw me rising from my pit at 5:20am; I know, I don't quite know how I managed it either. But it was most definitely worth it. Myself and eleven other bloggers/PRs headed down to Meadowhall in Sheffield for a Blogger's Breakfast and two mini LUSH workshops. First stop was Caffe Rizzoli (which is just outside of House of Fraser) for a delicious breakfast. I started off with a tea and then chose the Ham, Mushroom and Mozzarella offering and it was beautiful - next time I visit Meadowhall, I will most definitely be having it again.

After lots of nattering and introductions, it was time to visit LUSH. You could smell the gorgeous scent from around the corner and we couldn't wait to get inside. First up was the Emotional Brilliance range. Although I've seen the range in store before, I'd never actually researched into it or tried it for myself. We found out that a lot of research had gone into the range and each colour - which has been named after an emotion - represents said emotion; such a beautiful and genius idea.

LUSH has their own Emotional Brilliance Wheel which tells you how you're feeling right at that moment, what you need more of and how you feel in general. I chose Lifted, Quietly Motivated and Intuitive, all which I believe to be a somewhat accurate representation of me. In terms of colour, I fell in love with Sophisticated (which is swatched above). It looks like the most beautiful eyeshadow base ever. I also ended up buying one of the lipsticks in Strong. A gorgeous orange-red shade, but I'm not going to lie, I bought it for the name. If I'm ever having a rough day and feel I need strength, this is the lipstick I'm going to be rocking. At £14.50 the Emotional Brilliance range isn't cheap but the pigment and quality is outstanding and if there's one thing I took from the day, it's that LUSH's make up range is perfection.

Afterwards, we moved onto the skin care section. We learnt about LUSH's cleansers, toners and moisturisers and we were all quickly amazed at Ultrabland - a make up remover - which instantly dissolved any make up with just a tiny amount. After this, we made our own face mask. The face mask we made was Catastrophe Cosmetic* which is packed with blueberries, calamine, chamomile, rose and almond oils which soothe and soften the skin. I loved getting messy and stuck in, and it'd always been a dream of mine to make my own LUSH face mask. The end result was wonderful and I used it in the bath tonight. My skin feels gorgeously soft and my angry blemishes have been calmed down.

After cleaning up, we were told we could take home one cleanser and one toner. At first, I'd considered Let The Good Times Roll as it smells delicious - just like fudge. But after much deliberation, I decided that Ultrabland* would be better for me. I've used it twice since and I will be doing a full review on it because I'm in love. I also decided to go for the Breath of Fresh Air Toner* as it's very refreshing on the skin - the perfect pick me up.

All in all, it was the most lovely morning and I was gutted I couldn't stay for longer as some of the girls went shopping. Meadowhall was the perfect setting and without a doubt one of my favourite places to shop. Not only does it have the best shops, a wonderful food court and an affordable cinema all under one roof, but the parking is free too which is a major plus for me. I'm glad Meadowhall has big blogger plans! The other girls who attended were absolutely lovely and hopefully we'll all meet up again soon.
