My favourite beauty products in 2014: Bourjois, Paco Rabanne, Estee Lauder

L-R Peach Club, Nude-ist, Happy Nude Year

Hello! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas? I certainly did. I decided to pick out three of my favourite beauty products from this year. In terms of beauty, the past 12 months have been good to me. I've experimented, invested and discovered lots of brands (my favourite being KIKO). The biggest 'thing' for me has to be my skin care routine. I'm comfortable with it and it's doing me a lot of good. I'll be uploading a post on that soon. But for now, enjoy!

No matter how many foundations I try I always end up going back to this one. It provides buildable medium to full coverage, lasts all day, balances the skin nicely and applies evenly. It's very dreamy and I doubt I'll move on to another foundation any time soon.

My sister bought me this perfume for my graduation and I'm very thankful. It's without a doubt my favourite scent but because it's pricey it's something I've never purchased myself. Now I don't think I'll be able to be without it. Paco Rabanne knows how to do fragrance - they're all delicious.

These lipsticks have changed the game. I've always found lipsticks tricky because they tend to cling to dry patches and be high maintenance, but these ones are a dream. They're pigmented, long lasting, creamy and the most beautiful finish. I have four in my collection (I didn't photograph the red one, but you can see a swatch here) and I know I'll soon own the entire range.

What products have you loved this year?

Home fragrance with Baylis & Harding

If there's one thing I love, it's something that smells good. You can often find candles burning and air fresheners wafting away in my bedroom. It's truly a haven of deliciousness when it comes to scent. One product that has been engulfing my room in fragrance for a good few months now is the Baylis & Harding Diffuser in Sweet Mandarin and Grapefruit*, £15.

I can't even begin to tell you how much I've adored having this wonderful product placed on my windowsill. I didn't even know Baylis & Harding produced home fragrances until I received a press release. The moment I read about sweet mandarin and grapefruit, I knew I had to get my paws on it. The scent itself is very fresh and subtle and the product is luxurious yet affordable.

I first opened the box and let the diffuser run wild after my holiday on July 16. Now, I have around one third of the product left and the scent is still as beautiful and powerful. I can definitely say that once this product has ran out, I'll be buying another. Possibly trying out a different scent. The only problem is - I can't find the product anywhere, aside from on the brand's trade website.

What's your favourite home fragrance brand?

The Library of Fragrance: Banana Flambee, Caramel and Baby Powder

You know when a company just gets it bang on? That's exactly how I feel about The Library of Fragrance. The brand's mission? To capture the beautiful scents that surround us in the everyday. I've been anticipating the release of these fragrances for a really long time now as I've been heavily involved in the brand's market research. I've helped with everything from the scents, the price, the location, the design. Which in actually fact is pretty damn cool.

On release day, I rushed over to local Boots during a vox pop break and started having a sniff. I quickly decided on Baby Powder. Boots stock 28 of 101 fragrances including Grass, Sex on the Beach, Fresh Laundry and Fire Place. I find Boots perfect for trying out the fragrances before buying, however the full range is available on The Library of Fragrance website. Boots also currently have a '2 for £25' offer on which is perfect because you can mix and match the scents beautifully.

Which is exactly what I do with Banana Flambee* and Caramel*. Both the scents complement each other perfectly and work together in complete harmony. As someone who is useless when it comes to describing scents, these fragrances are an absolute dream. They smell exactly as they should. Banana Flambee? Smells like banana. Caramel? Smells like caramel. Baby Powder? Smells like baby powder. The brand have absolutely nailed the scents.

Like I mentioned earlier, 28 fragrances are available in Boots where there is currently a '2 for £25' promotion running and the full 101 fragrances are available on The Library of Fragrance website.

Which scents take your fancy?

FRAGRANCE | Signoria by Salvatore Ferragamo

Perfume is one of those beauty products that "completes" me. If I ever walk out of the house without it, I feel naked. This little 5ml bottle of wonder is one that I'm having to force myself to stop wearing as I want to take it on holiday with me in July. The Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Eau de Parfum* is truly beautiful. Elegant is a word that springs to mind when I have a whiff of this. The head notes of grapefruit and pear, the heart of almond powder and golden osmanthus and the base notes of patchouli and white leather balance this fragrance out incredibly well. It's quite a grown up scent, but not in a nasty way at all. It's one that I'd personally wear at night time due to its strength as it's an EDP. The scent is the powerful - but not overpowering - that I can smell it while writing this as I have the lid off the bottle. At £42 for a 30ml bottle (£60 for a 50ml and £81 for a 100ml), this fragrance doesn't come cheap. But it lasts wonderfully on the skin and makes me feel feminine, classy and dare I say it? Sexy.

What's your favourite grown up fragrance?

FRAGRANCE | Britney Spears Limited Edition Fantasy

I am without a doubt one of the biggest Britney Spears' fans you'll ever meet. I have been for 15 years now and it isn't going to be changing any time soon. When I say I'm a fan, I don't just mean that I enjoy her music - my friends will tell you that I'm literally obsessed with her. She's more than a popstar to me, she's an inspiration and her strength and music has got me where I am today. But enough of the gushing, this is a beauty blog after all. And any opportunity I get to blog about Britney, I take it.

Seeing as it's been 10 years since Britney released the best selling celebrity fragrance ever, Fantasy, both her and Elizabeth Arden decided to treat fans to a special Limited Edition Anniversary bottle. Exclusive to Superdrug, the scent of the LE fragrance is the exact same as the iconic Fantasy perfume - it's the packaging that's different. The chic black and gold bottle is without a doubt stunning, with Britney's autograph it's a must-have for any fan. What truly makes this fragrance special though is the thousands of fans names on the box - including mine!! (jemma p. UK) yup, that's me. I'm so happy that I managed to get my hands on this and as it's just £17, it's an offer you can't miss out on.

You can buy the 50ml Britney Spears Limited Edition Fantasy Fragrance here for £17.00.

FRAGRANCE | Marc Jacobs Honey

Christmas is just around the corner and with stores stocking hundreds of different fragrances, choosing the right one can sometimes be overwhelming. Marc Jacobs' Honey is a fragrance I've had my eye on for a while. First of all, the eye-catching bottle is stunning. If you're browsing the perfume shelves, immediately you'll notice the intricate and original bottles glaring back at you.

With top notes of pear and juicy mandarin, heart notes of orange blossom, peach nectar, apricot and honey suckle and base notes of honey, golden vanilla and smooth woods, this fragrance is to die for. What starts off as a fresh fruity fragrance soon dies down to sweet floral scent that is bound to have you - or your loved one - melting. With the solid perfume retailing at £34, the body lotion priced at £27, the fragrance itself starting at £49.50 and the gift set selling for £53, this beautiful fragrance isn't cheap. However, being an EDP, this bottle of wonder is one that will last you a while - a couple of spritzes and you're good to go for the day - and that makes the price tag worth it.

You can browse the entire Marc Jacobs' Honey range at Beauty Base here where they offer a free gift wrap service (perfect for the festive season), free delivery on orders £19.95 and over and great offers on many other fragrances if this one doesn't take your fancy.

Have you tried this fragrance before? What would be your perfect perfume?

FRAGRANCE | One Direction Our Moment

I'm without a doubt a huge fan of celebrity fragrances. I own every single Britney perfume that's ever been released (multiple bottles too) and Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck is my all-time favourite scent. So when I heard that One Direction were releasing "Our Moment*" into the world of celebrity fragrances, I was pretty excited. There was a lot of backlash on Twitter when the band announced their venture into the perfume world but to me, if something smells nice then it smells nice. It doesn't matter who created it or who endorses it.

The bottle for starters is beautiful. It's the epitome of girly and looks stunning on my dressing table. The fragrance itself smells like your typical celebrity fragrance: fruity, floral and girly. With top notes of pink grapefruit, wild berries and redcurrants, mid notes of jasmine petals, fresh freesia and frangipani and bottom notes of creamy musk, sheer woods and white patchouli. It's the perfect balance - wonderful for teens yet perfect for those in their 20's... my mother even thinks it smells delicious.

The box is something that you're either going to love or hate. While I personally love it - hello Niall! - it's definitely something that appeals more to the One Direction fanbase than fragrance fanatics. Being an Eau De Parfum, the scent lingers on the skin all day long and I only need a couple of spritzes on my wrists and neck. This fragrance is one that I definitely recommend having a whiff of the next time you're in Boots - it just might surprise you. I've been wearing it a lot recently as it's perfect and light for every occasion.

You can view the fragrance range here where the prices start from £14.00 for the body lotion and go up to £28.50 for the 50ml giftset.

What do you think about One Direction's fragrance?

The £8.94 Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess dupe

My first dupe - eeek! Just the other week, I stupidly walked into Debenhams to have a little sniff of the much loved Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess. Instantly, I fell in love. It was pretty much summer in a bottle and the strong smell of coconut blew me away. Since that day, I haven't stopped thinking about the fragrance - and its £45 price tag which sadly, I could never afford.

Luckily for me, I didn't bring any perfume back home with me from university. So when I went out the other night, I was searching through old drawers in my bedroom and when I spotted the beautiful looking Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers G sitting there. I can remember my mum buying this for my sister because it smelt of coconuts. So I decided to have a little spritz and instantly it reminded me of the Bronze Goddess fragrance. In fact, it smells exactly the same for a teeny tiny fraction of the price.

Now, the only problem is this fragrance has now been discontinued so you won't be able to find it in most stores. However, I've managed to find it on Amazon - and there are many on eBay too - for just £8.94 which is a complete and utter steal. Luckily, my sister's hardly used any of this perfume so for now, this will do me. I will be however, stocking up for the future as it smells incredible and whenever I get a whiff of it, I think I'm lying on the Caribbean beaches sipping away at a Pina Colada - yum! The fragrance features notes such as coconut, mandarin, freesia and sandlewood which all blend together to create sunny perfection.

You can buy this fragrance from Amazon here where it retails for £8.94. You can buy Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess here where it retails for £45 (and is sold out). Have you ever smelt this perfume before? What do you think? Will you be trying it out to see how it compares to Bronze Goddess?

REVIEW: Colour Me Fragrances

Last month, I was sent four fantastic fragrances over to try out and it's safe to say that one of them in particular hasn't left my body since. Perfume tends to be expensive, there's no doubt about that. I either ask for some for my birthday or use my Boots Advantage Card points to treat myself however, Milton-Lloyd create low cost fragrances as they don't advertise. Milton-Lloyd is a family business that was established in 1975 and now, they have a large global distribution. They also have a 6 hour guarantee.

This fragrance is for men and when I go back home from university, I'll be handing it over to my dad. It has "top notes of ruby mandarin orange, grapefruit and peppermint with aromatic herbs and a rich heart of rose absolute, cinnamon and spices on a tenacious base of warm leathery and exotic patchouli, white woods and amber." I'm not very good at describing scents, nevermind masculine ones but this one reminds me of my favourite fragrance which is Paco Rabanne's Black XS. It's really warm and inviting but not in a way that's overpowering.

This is another men's fragrance that I'll be passing over to my dad - he's a lucky one, isn't he?! This has "sparkling citrus top notes of grapefruit, melon and mandarin on a fresh aromatic heart of rosemary, thyme and English lavender. The base notes have quality white musks and tonka beans enhanced with tenacious patchouli and vetiver." Like I mentioned above, I'm no good at describing scents as it is but this one settles down on the skin really nicely. It's not as in your face as most masculine scents and would be perfect for the daytime.

This is a women's fragrance and it's described as "an elegant rich modern fruity chypre fragrance. The fresh top notes of bergamot and watermelon are boosted by a subtle floral accord of pretty jasmine, rose and violet notes. The dry down is a tenacious blend of oakmoss, amber and precious patchouli woods." This perfume is the perfect night time scent as it's really warm, captivating and alluring. Two sprays is enough to allow the fragrance to envelope your entire body and the 6 hour guarantee is correct as I've been able to smell this after a night out.

Oh I have saved the best until last. This feminine fragrance is just, it's all female. "White rose petals and almond blossom nestle around a joyous bouquet of geranium, heliotrope and lilies. This enveloping, romantic perfume scintillates the senses and dries down to a warm, alluring subtle aroma of vanilla and musks." The best way to describe this would be to say that it's Barbie in a bottle. I've already a third of the way through this bottle as it smells so delicious. I've been complimented so many times on it and the smell is really comforting. It's not as warm as the Colour Me Purple but it's still sexy and inviting because of the vanilla. It has more of a sweet, musky smell to it. I just love it. It's perfect.

The packaging of these fragrances - and the names - might not be all that but don't let that put you off. Behind the packaging are delicious fragrances and one has even become a new favourite of mine. When I first saw these perfumes and noticed the price I was a little bit sceptical as 90ml retails for just £9 but I can assure you that they're great quality fragrances that last well, smell well and although they're EDT, they're still powerful and a couple of sprays is more than enough for the entire day/night.
You can view the entire Colour Me range here. Have you ever tried some perfumes from Milton-Lloyds before? Will you be doing so? Which one of the above has captured your eyes the most?

REVIEW: Swiss Army Victoria EDT

Never did I ever imagine that my everyday fragrance would be one made by Swiss Army Knives. The Swiss Army Victoria EDT* has "fruity top notes of freesia, plum and blackcurrant and base notes including sandal wood and white musk. Victoria is the epitome of independent femininity." For me, I'd describe this fragrance as fresh, light and fruity and since wearing it, I've received no end of compliments. From people at work, the woman in my student accommodation office, people in the shop, my family and even one girl in the lift one day. I've fallen in love with this fragrance and it's happily sat next to my favourite perfumes; my Britney and Taylor Swift ones. The packaging has been inspired by the emblems in the military service which is "the perfect balance of strength, chic and a lighthearted lifestyle." A perfect way to describe this beautiful, summery fragrance. When buying a fragrance (1.0oz/2.5oz) you also receive a unique code to get a U-Fill. I've been loving using mine and I keep it in my bag for touch ups throughout the day.
You can also use the Victoria e-Bouquet Creator which allows you to arrange digital bouquets for your friends and family. You can then send this as a postcard in the mail alongside a sample of the scent. This means that you guys can have a smell of this fragrance without having to source it in shops! Basically, you pick your favourite flowers from a meadow and create your own unique bouquet. You then send your unique bouquet creation with a personalised message as a postcard or even via email. When you send it via postcard, your creation will be imprinted on the postcard with a sample of the Victoria fragrance. As well as this, you can place your bouquets on a voting gallery where friends, family, fans and followers can vote for their favourites and get a chance to win. The first prize is a spa trip for a two and the second and third prizes are the Victoria fragrance with its golden evening pouch and leather bracelet. I've made a bouquet and sent it to my mum as she's someone who adores flowers and I know that this fragrance is one that she's going to love aswell. You can view my bouquet here. I really like this idea. It's fun to create and you can personalise your own message while trying out the fragrance yourself.

You can buy the Swiss Army Victoria EDT* here for £51, view all of their fragrances here and create your own Victoria e-Bouquet here. Have you ever tried any of the Swiss Army fragrances? Will you be creating your own bouquet? If you do, let me know and I'll give you a vote!

REVIEW: Britney Spears Island Fantasy

My Britney fragrance collection. Hover over the image to find out where to buy each fragrance.
It's that time again; the time where I can talk about Britney Spears without my friends going, "Jemma, we know, please stop!" It's no secret that I'm a (the biggest) Britney fan. I have been 15 years and I don't plan on stopping in my lifetime. So when I found out that she was releasing a new fragrance, I got a little bit excited. This was released on April 1st and I was devastated that I couldn't buy it until my student loan went in on the April 5th - for an obsessed fan like me, that's a long time! Island Fantasy is her first EDT fragrance which to be honest, I was disheartened by this. Britney's perfumes are wonderful because they're EDP's which means that they're stronger and last a long time on the skin but hey-ho, can't do anything about it. The packaging is of course beautiful. It takes on the famous Fantasy bottle shape as it's from that line and it reminds me of being on holiday. Gold gemstones are placed on the green and blue ombre bottle which apparently symbolises a "warm sun rising over tranquil turqoise waters and lush green florals." - Oh don't you just want to be on holiday?! The fragrance itself is "a potion of succulent fruits and colorful blossoms, evoking warm sunshine, ocean breezes and glittering beaches. Followed by a mouthwatering mix of citrus cocktail, mandarin, clementine, watery melon and red fruits intertwines with refreshing floral notes of jasmine, freesia and violets. A surprising finish of soft musky undertones and sugar cane makes the tantalizing aroma carefree, flirty and feminine." This fragrance is clean, fruity and completely different to the rest of the Fantasy line. It's fresh, light and is the perfect summer scent. If you're a fragrance fan, a Britney fan or someone that's after an everyday, easy to wear scent, this is a must-have for your collection.
What's your favourite Britney fragrance? Have you tried this one before? You can buy Island Fantasy from Boots and it retails for £24 for 50ml.

REVIEW: Cath Collins Lily Fandango Eau De Toilette

Cath Collins, the renowned British perfumer who has been creating luxury fragrances, body, bath and home products for over 20 years has launched two new fragrances. I've been trying out the Lily Fandango EDT* for a few days and I have to say, it's lovely. It's described as "sizzling citrus and green notes whisk through to passionate white lilies, jasmine and cassis bud to a rich and intriguing seductive oriental base of cedarwood, patchouli and oakmoss." To say that this is an EDT it lasts for a long time on the skin and you don't need to spray that much of it to be able to smell it. It's strong yet gentle and not overpowering. I like this one. I don't tend to go for floral scents (think Taylor Swift, Britney Spears and YSL) however, I think this one is beautiful. Like I said, it's not overpowering and the cedarwood, patchouli and oakmoss tone the floral side down and just makes it smell really lovely. This perfume is going to be the perfect Spring/Summer scent. The packaging is also obviously beautiful. It comes boxed and it stands on display taking over all of my other fragrances. I'll also give a little mention to the Citrus Floral "Oh La La" EDT which is described as "sparkling notes of lemon and petitgrain slide into middle notes of orange flower, bergamot and tangy grapefruit melded with heady lily, jasmine and ylang ylang, resting in a soft heart of velvety musk." Both of these fragrances are available as the EDT themselves and also a nourishing Bath Elixir 100ml/150ml priced £26.50/£29.95 and a Refreshing Shower Gel 150ml priced £11.95. Cath Collins has a huge fragrance library and you can view her whole website here and also follow her on Twitter.

Currently Loving... Yankee Candle Wax Tarts

One of my biggest obsessions is without a doubt home fragrances. I love it when people walk into my apartment and say that it smells nice. And 9 times out of 10 the reason for it smelling nice will be because of my Yankee Candle Wax Tarts.

My dad was actually the first in the family to try these out. We were browsing B&Q one day and I remembered The Sunday Girl mentioned wax tarts on her blog. We came across a Yankee Candle stand and I recommended them to my dad (as I know that he loves his oil burner). He immediately reported back how much he loved them to me and over Christmas he gave me one of his oil/wax burners. From that moment on, a day doesn't go by when I'm not burning some wax. I keep my wax tarts in an old Nutella jar so I can keep track of them. I don't have many at the moment but I do have the Christmas Cupcake, Red Velvet and Sweet Pea versions which all smell incredible. The wax tarts themselves really do last a long time. I burn them every single day, nearly all day and I find that they easily last me at least a month - and they're pretty cheap too! You can get many different variations on eBay or pop into Clinton's etc to find them.
Do you love candles? Have you ever tried wax tarts before?

COLLECTION: Updated Britney Spears Fragrance Collection & Island Fantasy

These are always my favourite posts to write. Any time I can merge Britney and blogging together, I do it. I'm a massive Britney fan (as you all know) so I obviously have all, but one, of her perfumes. Since my last Britney fragrance collection post I've added a new fragrance to my collection and a few other new bottle sizes. I've also added a Britney perfume stand too which was a very exciting day for me. I swear I'm not obsessed - just dedicated!

Fantasy Collection - Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy, Circus Fantasy, Fantasy Twist, Hidden Fantasy

Radiance Collection - Radiance, Cosmic Radiance

Believe

Curious Collection - Curious and Curious Heart
So since my last post, I've added another 30ml Curious (given to me by my sister), a 15ml Curious (which was my work Secret Santa gift - they know me so well), a 30ml Believe (my favourite! A Christmas gift off of my dad) and a 50ml of Curious Heart. Curious Heart was a limited edition version of Curious which was released in 2008. It's quite hard to get a hold of these days but my mum managed to get me a bottle for Christmas which I was extremely excited about. It smells similar to the original Curious - pear, lotus flower, magnolia, vanilla, morning tuberose, flowers, jasmine, musk and sandalwood and I love it. I don't use it very often though because I'm scared of it running out. I'm now only in need of one more Britney fragrance and that's Curious: In Control which is another limited edition fragrance which was released in 2006.

This is my Britney fragrance stand which I love! My friend got it me from Superdrug after the Fantasy Twist promotion ended. They also gave me two pretty much full 50ml bottles of the Fantasy Twist fragrance which I was very grateful for. They are stuck onto the stand with wires so I tend to use them as room fragrances.

And finally, Britney has a new fragrance coming out in April called Island Fantasy which I'm extremely excited about. You can read more about the fragrance on Fleur's blog here. I will be rushing to Boots on its release date and buying a bottle!

FAVOURITE: Perfumes

One thing that I've been loving a lot recently is perfume and fragrance. It's not something that I've always been that interested in. I have a few perfumes and I wear them everyday but I find myself constantly on the lookout for new smells that I can fall in love with. This past month, I've fell in love with a new fragrance and rediscovered an old favourite of mine thanks to Christmas and my birthday...
First of all is Taylor Swift's Wonderstruck perfume. I've loved this perfume for a long time now, since its release, but I'd never actually owned it. For my birthday however, my sister bought it for me as quite frankly, it's all I go on about. This perfume is so beautiful. It is described as being a "charming and sparkling surprise of vibrant fruits, kissed by a bouquet of soft petals and a touch of sweet indulgence." The notes of the fragrance include freesia, apple blossom, raspberry, vanilla, honeysuckle, white hibiscus, golden amber, sandalwood and peach. The price of the perfume starts at just £20 for a 30ml bottle and you find buy it/find out more information about it here. Boots also currently have the Christmas giftset on offer for just £10 and this includes the 30ml bottle, a smaller 5ml bottle and a body lotion which is an absolute bargain. They don't have any instock online but I found one in my local Boots store the other day so it's worth keeping an eye out for them. Secondly, Britney Spears' Believe perfume. I've owned this perfume before, a long time ago, possibly when it first was released and it's always been my favourite Britney Spears scent. It's like nothing I've ever smelt before and I've truly missed owning a bottle that contains the scent inside (as a Britney fan I keep the bottles even when they're finished). Luckily for me, my dad bought it me for Christmas and I literally can't stop spraying/smelling it. This scent is described as being a "sparkling blend of exotic fruits, soft florals and seductive amber." The notes include guava pulp, golden tangerine, honeysuckle, linden blossom, patchouli, sensual amber and pink pralines. It's a really warm, grown up smell but it still has that classic Britney Spears smell behind it. Unfortunately, this fragrance seems to get left behind in a world that adores Fantasy and Curious, possibly because it was released in 2007 which of course, was a time when she was receiving a lot of negative publicity. But if you do ever spot this fragrance, smell it. You won't be disappointed. The price of this fragrance starts as just £19.55 for a 30ml bottle and you find out more information/buy it here.
Also on a side note, I received a limited edition Britney perfume for Christmas off of my mum (I now only need one more limited edition Britney perfume for my collection to be complete) so I will be updating my Britney Spears perfume collection soon. So if you're interested in her perfumes, keep an eye out for that!
Another thing to note about these perfumes is that they're both EDP which means that they're more concentrated than EDT perfumes so you don't need a lot of the fragrance itself. This means that they're great value for money and they last a long time on the skin so you don't need to keep topping them up throughout the day.
What are your favourite perfumes?

REVIEW: Liz Earle Botanical Essence Eau De Parfum No.15.

Queue excited squeals from Liz Earle fans across the country... Liz Earle have announced that they're bringing out a brand new fine fragrance this month! I've reviewed their first one (you can see that review here - I know, how bad) and I was very happy when I got to try out their new one, Liz Earle Botanical Essence Eau De Parfum No.15*
This fragrance has been inspired by a myriad of scents and aromas from around the world. A whopping fifteen precious botanicals have been carefully selected and handcrafted by an award-winning perfumer, Alienor Massenet, to create the lovely, Liz Earle Botanical Essence No. 15. I will quote what the brand say about the perfume themselves as I'm not good with scents, at all..
'Botanical Essence No.15 is a fresh spicy oriental scent. This clean, sexy and addictive fine fragrance is synonymous with feeling seductive and elegant. Feminine tones of pink pepper, cinnamon and bergamot create a spiciness that is beautifully sexy and skin-like. A hint of captivating Damask rose and sandalwood wrap you in a rich feminine sensuality while the almond and caramel-like qualities of tonka bean and Bourbon vanilla cocoon you in softness and warmth. Beautiful amber musk combined with cypriol and cedarwood creates a clean, fresh undertone.'
First of all, the packaging of this fragrance is beautiful. It has pictures of the ingredients and they're labelled saying what they are. The box then unfolds to reveal the fragrance, just like their first perfume. And then there's the bottle. It's just stunning. Very simple and plain but eye catching and classic. I was surprised by this fragrance. The first one was citrusy and I still use it to this day. But this one is more musky. It's definitely an autumn/winter scent and I love it. It's like nothing that I've ever smelt before and I can't stop myself from spraying it. Just like Liz Earle's first fragrance, this one too is strong and a couple of spritz is more than enough to last you the entire day. You can tell that a lot of love and thought has gone into this product.
You can buy this fragrance here where it retails for £45 for a 50ml bottle.
Have you tried this fragrance before? Will you be doing so?

COLLECTION: YSL Perfumes

Perfumes aren't something that I know much about. I tend to just stick with my Britney fragrances and be done with it. But since working at Boots, they're something that I find myself falling in love with. I think scent can define a person and it can bring a lot of memories back to you.
A few weeks ago at Boots we had a little incentive. I won't go too much into it but I ended up beating the incentive and for that reason, I got to choose a perfume tester. I chose the YSL Elle Eau de Parfum - £79.50 as YSL fragrances are ones that I think are beautiful. I've mentioned before that I can't describes smells very well but I'd say this one is on the musky side. But not a powerful musky scent. A nice one that can be worn in the day as well as the night. The bottle does look different to the original because it is a tester version but the smell is the exact same. I also love the YSL Parisienne Eau de Parfum - £40.00 and you can see my original post on this fragrance here.
What's your favourite fragrance? Do you like the YSL ones?

REVIEW: Britney Spears Fantasy Twist Eau de Parfum

Earlier this year it was announced that Britney would be releasing a 'new' perfume. But this wasn't just any old perfume. It was her two best selling fragrances, in one! I was very excited about this idea due to me being a huge Britney fan. So when it came out last week, I went down to my local Boots to pick it up.
The bottle holds both Fantasy and Midnight Fantasy in a spherical ball. The bottle is undoubtedly beautiful and I think it fits the 'Fantasy' theme very well. All you do is pull the ball apart and you will reveal the two fragrances. Both of these fragrances are very sweet and I'm sure the majority of you would've smelled them before. They're great fragrances for those who love sweet smells and I think they're wonderful for any age range - even my mum is a big Fantasy fan! Due to her fragrances, Britney holds the record for the best selling celebrity fragrances of all time. The lasting power of these fragrances is incredible and the scents are nice and strong (but not overpowering). It's probably because Elizabeth Arden makes the perfumes and they're eau de parfums.
So now my collection is complete. Kinda. I just need the limited edition fragrances that were released a while ago. I'm hoping that Britney/her team decide to release more of these Twist perfumes as they're a great idea if you're going travelling. I'd love a Radiance/Cosmic Radiance Twist. Or a Hidden Fantasy/Circus Fantasy Twist. Or maybe even a Curious/Believe Twist. Who knows?!
You can buy Fantasy Twist here. Prices start from £24. You can view the rest of the Britney Spears fragrance range here. Will you be picking this up? What do you think of the Britney fragrance range?

REVIEW: YSL Parisienne

A few weeks back I was asked to work on the fragrance counter at Boots. At first, I was petrified. I was worried that people were going to come up to me and say things like, 'I'm looking for a floral scent, can you recommend one?' I'm not great at describing scents at all and the perfume cabinets quite frankly scare the living daylights out of me but it wasn't too bad and I enjoyed it.
At one point during the day, a woman was trying out perfumes and she sprayed one which I adored. I had no idea what the scent was but I decided to walk around the area where the smell was coming from and try out the testers available. As soon as I sprayed YSL's Parisienne I knew it was 'the one.' When it comes to perfumes I don't have many. I have all of the Britney Spears ones and they're pretty much the only ones that I wear and I only buy them because I'm a fan (I guess it's lucky that I love the smell of them too). So this was  my first 'high end, proper' perfume purchase and I love it so much. I went back into Boots the following week and saw that this was on offer. It was down from £42 to £27.99 (with my staff discount). I couldn't get the scent off of my mind the entire week so I knew that I just had to buy it. And I'm so glad that I did. Like I mentioned earlier, I'm useless at describing scents. It's very sweet-like, reminds me of parma violets in a way so if that's your forte, definitely nip into Boots or Debenhams and have a sniff. It's still on offer and you never know, it could be your love too!
