What I wore to my graduation






If you don't follow me on social media then you probably won't know that this time last week I was graduating from the University of Lincoln. I won't delve too much into the day itself but it truly was a special and proud day. The ceremony itself was held in Lincoln's cathedral and castle which created a magical setting.

The university's colours are blue and yellow so I instantly knew I wanted to wear a blue dress. Chi Chi very kindly sent me their Jenny dress* which is absolutely beautiful. It's such a princess dress and extremely well made. It has a low back but luckily comes complete with a padded bust meaning that there's no need to wear a bra. As someone with DD boobs I can vouch for the padding and say it worked very well - I was even complimented on how "great" my boobs looked on the day. Ahh, boys. 

I bought my shoes from the New Look sale and although they weren't the most comfortable, they were very easy to walk in. If you've ever been to Lincoln then you'll realise how important a good pair of shoes is - there streets are cobbled! I wore a simple necklace from Primark and my fake tan is by Nottingham's Saks salon and Xen-Tan (which I've reviewed before). The nail polish on my toes is KIKO's Poker Nail Lacquer in 05* and on my fingernails is Models Own's Coconut Cream*.

WISHLIST | Workwear wardrobe


Ever since working at The Nottingham Post, I've been loving classy "grown-up" type clothes. My style has changed a lot over these past few weeks and in all honesty, I couldn't be happier with my wardrobe. There are a few other items that I'd like to add to it so I thought I'd compile a wishlist. Not just for me to remember what to buy on pay day, but for you too. In case you're looking to part with your cash for a few new items.

All items are either from Espirit or New Look, both sites that I've been loving a lot recently. The best thing about Espirit is that delivery is free. I'm someone who hates paying postage and would rather spend an extra £20 to avoid the cost. The website also has some beautiful work wear clothing. New Look speaks for itself really - I love the fact that I still have a years worth of student discount left.

Outfit of the day and a blogging break

Recently my blogging schedule has gone out of the window and I've decided to take a bit of a blogging break. This could be for a couple of days, a couple of weeks or even a few months. I won't go into too much detail but I think I need a bit of me-time, and a step away from social media. It won't be forever, I absolutely adore blogging and the escape it provides me. But I need to put myself first sometimes.

In case you didn't know, I've been working for The Nottingham Post for the past four weeks and because of this, I've featured in their newspaper and on their website a couple of times. If you're interested, you can view my features here and here. I quite like the outfit that I put together for their "fashion blogger" segment so decided to showcase it on my blog.

I do apologise about the photo. It's no secret that I'm useless when it comes to taking outfit photos. But the sun was shining so I definitely made the most. I've recently been adoring midi skirts as I find them flattering and classy. I'd be eyeing up this one from Matalan for ages so when I saw it in the sale, I knew I had to snap it up. I also love the fact that it's pink too.

WISHLIST | Primark


The other day, I accidently found myself in Primark and whilst there, I considered walking down to Natwest and asking for a loan. Their new collection is instore and it's well and truly stunning: I pretty much wanted everything. So I decided to showcase a few of my favourites items to you guys in this impromptu post (it isn't even on my blogging schedule, that's how last minute it is). I will definitely be investing in - almost - everything above, mainly for my holidays. Everything is just so darn adorable.

Two WIWT's in two days?! Oh you lucky sods. I didn't want to write the usual "Happy New Year" blog post because quite frankly, I'm fed up of seeing them. My BlogLovin' feed was covered in them when I woke up this morning. I did, however, want to show you what I wore last night. Some of you may have already seen it on Instagram but nonetheless, here it is again. In a last minute "I have nothing to wear" panic, I hit town yesterday looking for a new dress. When I realised that the dresses were awful, I decided I'd wear my Disco Pants with this beautiful blouse from Primark. The colours are stunning, the fit is flattering and the price (£12) was even better - I'm addicted. I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish you all the best in 2014. Bamboozle Beauty is going to be four years old in just a few days - absolute madness! Thank you for making 2013 special.

WIWT | The day after Boxing Day

When it comes to taking outfit posts, we all know that I'm an absolute mess. In all honesty, I have no idea what I'm doing and I shy away from the camera. Regardless of this, the day after Boxing Day, I went to Meadowhall with my dad and stepmum which was absolutely hectic! I loved my "day after Boxing Day" outfit so much that I thought; "to hell with it!" and here you have a very badly photographed WIWT. As soon as I opened this top from my mum, I knew I was going to get so much wear out of it. Not only are the colour and fit beautiful, but I'm a huge owl fan too. The scarf from my sister is definitely "me" and since opening it, I haven't taken it off - no literally, I was wearing it on Christmas Day in my pyjamas. As for the lens mug... HOW AMAZING IS IT?! It was also filled with sachets of hot chocolate. I adore it so much. But anyway, now I have my new camera, I promise I will try and get better at these things now. I am attending an SLR course in March so hopefully I'll be able to say, "forget the landscapes, teach me how to take OOTD posts." Then again, maybe not...

The above items are ones that I'm currently lusting over. I've been after a swing dress for quite a while now and the simplicity of the black one is stunning - I adore the lace sleeve detailing. The other two graphic print dresses are so unusual that I'm completely drawn to them - I love anything that cinches in at the waist and emphasises that area. As for the kimono... I'm addicted to blazers and I love wearing things that cover up my terrible arms. This kimono would be perfect for throwing on top of any outfit and making it look more stylish. The jumpsuit is also stunning. I don't own one but believe this would look beautiful and classic on a casual night out.

I was sent the Black Jacquard Pattern Trousers* from Fashion Union a few days ago but sadly for me, they don't fit - I think I need to lay off the late night McDonald's - but my fatness is wonderful news for you guys as I'm going to be giving the pair of trousers away. They're brand new and they still have the tags on and they're a size medium (12). I do believe that they run quite small so they'd best be suited for a size 10-12 in my opinion. WISHLIST | Winter Boots




As much as I hate the cold, I sure do love winter fashion. Cosy coats, beautiful boots and snug scarves certainly do it for me. I absolutely adore layering up and feeling comfortable and safe. Recently, I bought a pair of boots from Primark for just £10. They're brown and lovely and they've made me want even more. So above, I've compiled a "winter boots wishlist" much to the dismay of my bank balance. I've never owned a pair of high leg boots before (that I'm aware of) but since spotting the ones above from New Look and Equestrian Clearance, I'm really lusting after some. The heeled boots from New Look are must-haves for me - after all, I'm a student who goes out quite a lot and on the dreaded walk to the nightclub and home, I don't want my feet getting cold. I certainly will be investing in another pair of boots and I've already been sending images of ones I'd like for Christmas to my mother.

WISHLIST | South Africa's equivalent to Primark & competition

Just when I thought Primark was "the one", I stumbled upon MRP. Basically, MRP are the South African equivalent to Primark except their prices and clothing range are better and cheaper. The cheapest item in the collage above is just £2 with the most expensive being £12 - incredible. I've spent the entire morning (procrastinating as usual) browsing the website and falling in love with so many pieces. Above is just a small selection of items that I'll be ordering once my student loan graces my bank account. I've been in need of a new wardrobe for yonks now and MRP seems like the perfect place to start. They also ship to the UK for just £4 (or for free if you spend over £34) which is cheaper than some UK high street stores.

LIFESTYLE | Sibling's graduation & WIWT


Those who know me will know that my sister is my world. And yesterday was her graduation. Like myself, she too attends (attended) the University of Lincoln and ever since I found out that she'd be graduating back in June, I've been extremely excited. I've had my dressed picked out for what seems like forever and known down to point how I'd be doing my make up. The wonderful thing about graduating from Lincoln is the fact that the ceremony is held in the wonderful cathedral. It's a truly stunning setting and adds to the atmosphere like no other.

My dress is the lovely Chi Chi Callie Dress which I won in a Facebook competition earlier this year. It's beautiful and seeing as the Lincoln colours are yellow and blue, I thought it fitted the occasion perfectly. It's nicely made and holds you in in all the right places. The thing I loved the most about this dress is the fact that it has a padded bust which is essentially an inbuilt bra. I'm quite busty and whenever clothing items usually say that they come with "built in support" it's a complete waste of time. However, this dress was perfect for supporting the erm, boobage and allowed the cut out in the back to shine without nasty bra straps poking through. 

I won't go into too much detail about the ceremony as it is a personal thing but it was truly lovely. Even hearing "woos" and "yeahhh" from other people's family members in the audience as their loved ones went up and graduated was really nice. Afterwards, we took lots of photos and then went out for a meal. It was a wonderful day because the majority of my family attended - dad, mum, stepmum, stepdad, grandparents and my sister's best friend was there too. So yes, I just wanted to show you my dress and a few photos from the day. Oh and my shoes are from New Look in case you were wondering. They're pretty much the only heels I own!

WIWT | They say we're too young for love but I'm catching feelings

Another outfit of the day? Oh you poor souls. The reason for this one is because of the necklace. I love statement necklaces under collars and have done for a while. But you know, I've been waiting for payday to show its little face before I could "invest" in one. The one I'm wearing above is from Primark and it cost me the grand total of £1 - not much of an investment there. It was in the sale (there's nothing quite like a Primark sale, is there?!) and it was reduced from a mear £3. I highly recommend checking out the bargainous store as they have a lot of cute statement necklaces in there at the moment. This one, I believe, adds an "edge" to the dainty blouse and the neon really "pops" and catches your eyes. The shorts are from the back of my wardrobe and I haven't wore them in yonks. I bought them from Matalan a good two years ago and I absolutely love them paired with this blouse (the blouse the Spice Girls have touched I must add). As for my nails, aren't they pretty?! This is my favourite nail combination at the moment - beautiful.

Props to you if you know the song from the title of this post - it's a '99 classic, I'll tell ya! Ahh, outfit of the day posts. They're always something that I shy away from but with the sun out in full force today, the lighting in my apartment was too good for me to miss the opportunity. I also wanted to show you these shorts. I bought them two summers ago so I doubt you'll be able to get your mitts on them now unfortunately but I can't stop wearing them at the minute. They cost me a measly £3 which is something you definitely can't complain about - it's no wonder Primark is my favourite store, is it? They're a little bit big and I am insecure about my flabby legs but you know what, it's summer, it's boiling and I'd be stupid to cover up any more. You might recognise this top from a post I did a few weeks ago and although at first I wasn't sure about the high/low hem, I'm now a big fan. It covers everything I want it to at the back and floats around all prettily in the sun. So yes, there you have it. An outfit of the day post. I apologise for the dodgy posing, the awkward mess in my room and my "definitely-needs-redoing" ombre.

eBay loving: imhappyuk

In case you don't follow me on Twitter and you haven't heard me stressing out, I've been invited to a black tie event next month and for the past few weeks, I've been trawling every clothing website trying to find the perfect dress. In the end, I took to eBay and discovered an eBay store which has quickly become my favourite. A lot of their items are "Buy it Now" however, they do auction off their items as well which means that you're good with buying on eBay, you can get yourself a bargain.

I'm currently bidding on dress number 4 for more than its Buy It Now price. You see, their Buy It Now clothing is from China which means it takes a while to ship to the UK but some of their bidding clothing is from the UK which is why I'm willing to pay more. There's no point in me buying the dress for it not to be here in time for the event! For me, their clothes are perfect and exactly my style - cute, ditzy and girly. When I get paid at the end of the month, I'll definitely be placing an order so I will let you know what the quality is like. If I win dress number 4, I'll also let you know about their quality.

LOOKBOOK: Ooh La La

I wrote this post yesterday and this morning I woke up and Britney's new song - called "Ooh La La" - for the Smurfs 2 movie has actually leaked! So that was a great start to my morning. It's such a fun, cute pop song and it makes me happy. Anyway, I'm going out tonight so I thought I'd show you what I'm going to be wearing. I've been loving skirts at the moment and when I saw this H&M skirt on a blog sale, I knew I had to have it. It's such a classic colour and it reminds me of being a little school girl with the pleats. I've had the blouse for a while now, I wore it when I met the Spice Girls and it gives off a vintage vibe which I think looks great with the skirt - hopefully. I am going into town later on today as I'm going to have to get some nude tights as I just can't be bothered to fake tan while the weather is this miserable haha. WISHLIST: Westfield

Westfield Wishlist


I was recently gifted a Westfield gift card* and since receiving it, it's been burning a hole in my pocket. The closest Westfield to me is Derby however, being based in Lincoln, it's still pretty far and I'd need money to get there. So I either need to wait a little while and go to the one in London or wait until I go back home after my exams and take a visit. So to tame my needs, I've compiled a wishlist with a few items from some of the stores from Westfield Derby. I've included a crop top on my wishlist as it's something that I'd like to try out. I'm by no means comfortable enough to show my stomach but I do think crop tops look really pretty paired with a high waisted skirt so barely no - if any - skin is showing. I've also included a lightweight jumper as I think they're perfect for throwing over an outfit when it gets a little bit cooler in the summer. I tweeted the other day how excited I am for the return of pinafore dresses so of course, I'm desperately in need of one and this one from New Look is just perfection. A Jemma wishlist wouldn't be complete without a few cat items and I fell in love with this top a few weeks ago and as soon as I saw these shoes, I knew I needed them - aren't they just the most adorable things in the world?! I've also been after some disco pants for a while and New Look do their own version for a fraction of the American Apparel price so although the weather is getting warmer, I'll be getting myself a pair. The tea dress, cross dress and pale skirt were items I saw and loved. I've been wearing a lot of skirts recently because of the warm weather and I'd like to expand my collection. And of course, dresses are key items in any girls wardrobe. And finally, I've been saying that I've needed the Models Own Neon Yellow nail polish for a really long time now so when I visit Westfield, I WILL pick it up, without a doubt.
