MeMeMe Cosmetics is a brand that despite hearing a lot about, I never delved far into it before. Well I did, when I was younger and still in school, but make up wasn't taken seriously by me then and I really had no idea what I was doing. If you haven't heard of the brand before it's influenced by Ancient Greek Mythology, The Renaissance and The Bohemian free spirit, meaning that the brand has its own unique identity. The packaging of every product is not only stunning, but extremely useful and compact too. I've been trying out a couple of their products for a while now and I've loved using them so much that I thought I'd let you know how I got on.

Eye Inspire Classic Trio Collection in Sultry Eyes* - £5.50

The moment I laid eyes on this trio, I fell in love. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore my nude palettes but sometimes they're way too bulky, especially if I'm going to be staying round a friends or at a hotel. This trio allows me to create a beautiful smoky eye with just three shades. The shimmering champagne is a beautiful highlight shade, the shimmering taupe is wonderful all over the lid, and the deep matte brown is perfect in the crease. The eyeshadows themselves are nicely pigmented, easily blendable and last all day long with a primer. If Sultry Eyes isn't your thing, MeMeMe offers four other different colour combinations including pinks, greens, blues and blacks.

Correct & Perfect Concealer Kit* - £6.99

I love concealer, I love how it can change an entire look, and this concealer kit has everything you need in one compact container. The concealer on top is nicely hydrating and perfect for under the eyes. I've tried it on blemishes but the coverage wasn't enough for me. However on the eyes, it brightens, hydrates and conceals beautifully. The lightweight mattifying powder ensures the concealer stays put all day long. It doesn't settle into any fine lines or highlight any dry patches; it simply disappears on the skin. The kit is wonderful for touch ups throughout the day and it always manages to find its way inside my handbag due to the perfect little mirror. The concealer kit comes in two shades.

The moment I saw this palette, it was love at first sight. The Too Faced Joy To The Girls Christmas Gift Set* is filled with 15 highly pigmented matte and shimmer eyeshadows and full-sized LashGASM Mascara (which retails for £18 alone). With all of the hype and coverage surrounding the Naked 3 palette, it's inevitable that this palette will get overlooked but really, it shouldn't be because it's fabulous.

I'm a big fan of the packaging. Despite the fact that it's cardboard, it feels and looks exceptionally sturdy and without a doubt, pretty. As with the majority of Too Faced palettes, it comes with mini tutorials on how to use the eyeshadows which is a nice and useful extra, although I probably would've preferred a mirror. The lasting powder of these shadows is outstanding and when used with the Too Faced Shadow Insurance, they aren't budging throughout the day.

Each shadow has its own adorably festive name which for me, makes the palette even better. The shadows themselves are pigmented, buttery soft and easily wearable. With a range of neutrals and more vibrant colours, there's something for everyone and allows you to experiment with a pop of colour if needs be. The mascara is something that I was pleasantly surprised by as well - it really lengthens the lashes and separates them. The plastic brush is wonderful and combs through each lash ensuring even application.

MAKE UP | Eyes Lips Face

ELF is a brand that I've delved into before. In the past, I've been impressed by their mineral blushers, a couple of their lipsticks and a few eyeliners. However, it's a brand that I've neglected a lot over the past few years. You see, I'm someone who likes to physically buy things - I still regularly go into HMV and buy a CD for example - and it's no different when it comes to make up. I like to see the product in front of me, give it a little test out and with ELF, that's something that isn't possible in the UK. After receiving a couple of products from the brand, I've become a tiny bit annoyed at myself as the quality - and price - is outstanding.

Studio Matte Lip Colour in Rich Red* - £3.75

As someone who is a big fan of lip crayons, I had high expectations for this. The colour itself is stunning and it's a true red with a hint of pink. The lip crayon glides onto the lips, making it easy to apply and the lightweight formula means that it feels comfortable to wear. I get around 4 hours wear on the lips with regular eating and drinking which isn't half bad at all. The lip crayon is enriched with Vitamin A, C and E to moisturise the lips and I haven't had a problem with this drying my lips out. However, I definitely recommend using a lip scrub and balm beforehand to ensure they stay hydrated. I've ended up being a big fan and despite the vibrant colour that scares me off sometimes, it's a lip colour I'm sporting often. I also have my eye on Coral and Tea Rose - they look more wearable and more "me."

Studio Shimmer Palette* - £3.75

I could literally rave about this palette all day long. As someone who is new to highlighting the skin, I was extremely excited when the postman graced my morning (or afternoon considering he doesn't usually arrive until 1pm) with this little beauty. The packaging is once again lovely and has an expensive, luxe feel to it. It includes a mirror and a brush - and the brush is quite decent. The shimmers themselves are stunning, which I'm sure you can see from the swatches above. They're nicely pigmented, creamy and really complete a make up look. I use these in my tear duct to brighten my eyes up, on my cheekbones and on my cupids bow and they give my skin a healthy and natural glow. What's even better is the fact that these last and last. I applied the champagne pink before a night out at 8pm and when I arrived home at 3am, the shimmer was still there. Intact and looking as vibrant as ever.

No blog post from me on this blog today however last night, I graced one of my favourite blogs - A Little Obsessed - and I'd love it if you could head on over and give it a read. MAKE UP | KIKO Eyetech Look Eyeshadow

Before I started blogging, I never understood the joy of eyeshadow. A quick flick of mascara and I was good to go. But over the past three years, I've experimented with them a lot. More often than not, I tend to stick to my trusty Urban Decay Naked palettes as I know what works for me when it comes to those. But every now and then, I discover a new gem that I just can't seem to stop wearing. This little beauty is from what I can only describe as my favourite make up brand: KIKO. I haven't come across a product of theirs that I don't like and I swear on oath that one day, I will own the entire collection from the brand.

The KIKO Eyetech Look Eyeshadows* are not only stunning but they're easy to use. And when it comes to everyday wear, there's nothing I love more than an easy beauty product. They come with their own applicator which means that you can easily sweep them over your lids and blend them out to your desired needs. As well as this, these look lovely as eyeliners - particularly colours 106 and 112 which look gorgeous underneath the lash line in summer as the colours are so incredibly vibrant. 106 is a beautiful deep purple and 112 is a stunning turquoise that reminds me of the ocean. I've been wearing the colour 117 every single day as it's natural looking and gives a beautiful wash of colour over the eyelids. It's like a "my lips but better shade" except it's for your eyes.

The one thing that worried me about these eyeshadows is the size. They are small and there is only 0.8g of product in them however, KIKO claim that there is enough product inside the cap for over 150 applications - a pretty bold claim. And although I haven't used my trusty 117 150 times yet, I have been wearing it almost everyday for over a month now so it's definitely put my worries to rest. The packaging is also wonderful and extremely practical. If you're travelling somewhere, these are small enough to chuck into your beauty bag and if you're using them to give a wash of colour or as an eyeliner, you don't even need to take a brush with you.

KIKO claim that these come in 18 different shades however on the website, I can only see five unfortunately. You can buy these practical little beauties here where they're currently on offer for £2.90 each.

REVIEW: KIKO Colour Party Palette in Holi Vibrations

As you may or may not know, I've recently been trying out the KIKO Limited Edition Spring Collection and for today's post, I'm going to be speaking about their Colour Party Palette Wet and Dry Eyeshadow in 04 Holi Vibrations*. I'm not the most experimental person when it comes to eyeshadows so when I first opened this palette up, I was a little bit scared about the blue and purple shades. However, I definitely did immediately fall in love with neutral colours. You see, that's the thing with this palette - it caters to everyone. Whether you're someone who braves colour or sticks to what they know, this palette is suitable for you. If you are like me and you stick to neutrals then it's always good to have something else there that you can experiment with if you feel like you need to. For me personally, I love the purple shade in this palette. It really emphasises my green eyes and it's wonderful underneath the eyes. Also, the blue shades make incredible eyeliners if you're after a "pop" of colour. And that's the great thing about this palette. It's versatile as the shadows can be used wet or dry. The swatches above are the shadows used dry so you can imagine how intense they are when you use a wet brush. The pigmentation, longevity and blendabilty of these shadows are on par with Urban Decay. So yes, I was scared at first but now I'll hold my hands up say... I love this palette. This palette retails for £16.90 and you find out more information/purchase it here. REVIEW: KIKO for Eyes

You might remember my KIKO introduction post from a while ago. Well, in case you missed it, since then I've published a post about their KIKO Long Lasting Lipsticks and now, I'm going to be talking about some of their eye products. First up is the Vivid Eyes Kajal and Eyeliner in Festive Indigo and Black* £7.90. I love this product. I haven't used any other pencil eyeliner since receiving this. As you can see from the swatches above the black is very intense and it lasts a long time on waterline and stays intense. They pencil is the perfect texture - creamy enough to not drag on the eyelids but hard enough to stay put on the skin. It's also great for smudging and creating a smoky eye. I haven't used the blue yet purely because I'm scared to. I don't do well with colour on my eyes at all but this end of the pencil is also perfect in formula and pigmentation. I highly recommend this product if you're an eyeliner addict like I am. Secondly is the Pigment Loose Eyeshadow in Sunny Coral* and Joyful Teal* £5.90 each. These pigments come in six different shades (in the "Colours in the world collection") and they're made from pure pigments. They're easy to blend and when wet, easy to work with. They're extremely pigmented (when used wet as you can see in the swatches above) and can be used to create a fine line or a very dramatic make up look. You can blend them together and mix them with other colours to create something unique and personal every time you use them. The colours are extreme for me but the other night it was fairy fancy dress night and I enjoyed using these colours on my friends. They lasted throughout the entire night and were still vibrant when we returned home. If you love colour then these are perfect for you. The price is also extremely reasonable as these will last you years.

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

When I first heard that Urban Decay were bringing out another Naked palette, I think I died a little inside. However, after a little bit of research, I discovered that it was a fully matte palette. Not going to lie, I don't really like matte colours. I love shimmery, smoky eyes but being a Naked lover, I had to order this palette anyway. 

 You get 6 eyeshadows in this palette. Venus is a new soft, off-white demi-matte shade, Foxy was in the Naked 2 palette and is described as a cream bisque matter, Walk of Shame (W.O.S) is a very light nude matte, Naked 2 is pretty much like Naked from the Naked 2 palette and is a new taupe matte, Faint is a new warm, dusty brown matte and Crave is a new deepest, darkest brown/black matte.

The packaging is beautiful. It's a lot smaller than the other palettes (obviously as it contains 6 less shades) but it has a huge mirror inside it and the eyeshadows themselves are still full size. The actual outer packaging is bang on. If you can remember the original Naked palette then you'll know that however beautiful the packaging started out, it still wasn't exactly travel friendly and it definitely isn't nice and clean now. The Naked 2 palette packaging was a big step up and the Naked Basics is even a bigger step up. 

So although I only bought this palette because I thought I needed it to complete my collection, I've actually fell in love with it. These colours really make creating that perfect shadow so much easier and having mattes is great for creating a basic day time eye look or building on top of. I absolutely love Venus and W.O.S as highlights, Foxy is a wonderful base colour, Naked 2 and Faint are so good in the crease and Crave is the perfect eyeliner colour. I haven't been reaching for my other two Naked palettes half as much since I bought this. I really love it. The pigmentation, as always, is outstanding and the shadows themselves are easy to blend.

Where would I be if you didn't believe?

A few nights ago I was bored. And I thought to myself, "what can I do to entertain myself?" And out of the corner of my eye I spotted my make up drawers screaming "open me, use me." I think they've been feeling a bit neglected recently as I haven't really been experimenting a lot with make up due to lack of time (pesky assignments)! So I decided to experiment with a look that I've never tried or attempted before...

I used the lilac on the lid and the dark purple in the crease from the No7 Eyeshadow Trio in Forest Fruits to create a nice glittery effect. I then went over the dark purple in the crease with Urban Decay's Blackout to make it more intense and the colour I wanted. But I still wanted the glitter to be seen so I went over Blackout a little bit more with the dark purple in Forest Fruits to further highlight this. Eyeliner wise, I used my trusty Collection 2000's Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black and for mascara I used lots of them mixed together to create thick and full lashes. 

I must apologise for the blurring out of my eyebrows in these pictures. They really needed doing but I didn't think I was going to like the look enough to feature it on my blog so I didn't bother - oops! Also, sorry about the dodgy false eyelash application in the last picture. I'm not great with false eyelashes and I kinda rushed the application. But the picture showed off the make up so well that I just had to use it. I wasn't expecting to like this look. But I've actually fallen in love with it. I don't know if it's something that I'll be able to recreate but I will sure as hell try too! I was a little sad when i had to wash it away as I wanted to keep it on my eyes forever. It's very intense so it'll need to be paired with flawless skin and neutral lips but for a night out, I think this is perfect!

REVIEW & SWATCHES: No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Trios

As you all probably know by now, No7 have had a complete brand overhaul. Every single product in the range has been redesigned and I personally think they look beautiful.

The new No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Trios - £9.50  look a lot more sleek and classic and I think they generally just look more appealing. I've had one of these trios before but it found its way to the back of my make up collection. Probably because of how outdated it looked. But when I saw these, I knew I had to have them.

I picked up three of trios (because of the current 3 for 2 offer). These are (from left to right) Forest Fruits, Good Earth and Twilight. Forest Fruits contains plum/purple shades which is great for my green eyes. Good Earth contains brown, earth shades which is great for an every day smoky eye look. And Twilight contains grey/black shades which is great for that perfect, deep nighttime smoky eye.

I love that these are trios so it means you don't have to look anywhere else for colours. You know that these all work together. I use the top shade for the highlight, the middle shade for the lid and the bottom shade for the crease. They're very easy to use and blend, buttery soft and last all day long with a primer. I can see myself picking more of these up as I think they're great for travelling and also, beginners!

High Street Intense Purple Make Up Tutorial

Last night, or well, this morning I returned from my sister's flat and decided that I wanted to play around with some coloured eye shadow. I looked in my make up drawers and found this beautiful purple colour and a black colour that I rarely ever used. So I thought I'd try and create a look with it. Next time, I would use a more intense black (possibly one from Urban Decay) to make the eyes stand out more but I wanted to keep this a high street make up tutorial so it's more affordable.

My New Glasses!

Since starting university it's safe to say that I've noticed a dramatic change in my eyesight. I squint a lot during lectures and it's very rare that I can read what's on the presentations. So I decided it was time to get my eyes tested. And I was right. I'm pretty much blind in my left eye and my right eye is doing all the work - I blame computers and phones entirely as I used to have perfect eyesight! So I ended up getting some glasses which to be honest, I was very excited about as I love glasses.

Boots currently have an offer on whereby you can receive 2 pairs of glasses for just £79 and included in the price are the lenses (unless you choose to have special lenses). I picked up the pair above and the pair below and I really love them. I decided to go for a thick frame and a thin frame so that I can mix and match when necessary. 

I am struggle to get used to them though. Although it feels like I can see in HD it's very strange having something on my face whenever I'm watching TV, driving, reading or on the computer. But I'm sure that within time, I won't even notice that they're there.

So this is the first pair of glasses and these are the thick rimmed ones. You can tell from the picture above that it's taking a while for me to get used to them as they're half way down my face - haha!

And this is the second pair. I think I'm warming more towards the thin rimmed glasses as they're really delicate and a bit more 'me.' They're a rose gold colour and are just beautiful!
