I'm not normally one to post about new and exciting things - especially when they're headphones. But as soon as my eyes locked onto these beauties, I knew I had to share them with you. Yesterday at Harrods, the world leader in high-performance and high-style headphones, Monster, unveiled their "crown jewels." The one-of-a-kind Diamond Tears Sally Sohn Edition Headphone have been created by Monster and the world-renowned Korean artist and jewellery designer, Sally Sohn. Made from 18k gold and encrusted with black diamonds totalling 5.56 carats, over 100 hours of hand-craftsmanship has gone into the creation of the headphone. Like all Monster headphones, this one doesn't lack sound clarity and delivery as they've been specially tuned by Head Monster, Noel Lee who is the audio engineer behind the sound of Beats by Dr.Dre® headphones (which I own and love)! Head Monster Noel Lee noted: “Both our new Diamond Tears and Monster DNA headphones represent Monster’s leadership in providing ‘what’s next’ in personal audio, both a style standpoint and in terms of their unprecedented sound quality and features. The creation of the Diamond Tears Sally Sohn Edition was truly a labour of love for us, and being able to work with such a talented, ahead-of-the-curve designer as Sally to craft such a special, museum-quality work of art was really the icing on the cake. They sound incredible right? Well unfortunately, these headphones cost £20k to buy so they're not for all of us but they're still stunning to look at. When I received this press release my heart died a little bit - I thought there was a spider on my screen.
