Reunion outfit of the night and eyes of the night

For the first time in two years I met up with some of my school friends and we went out into town on Bank Holiday. It was an amazing night and I loved catching up with them. But onto the important bit, my hair, outfit and make up... On my eyes I used Urban Decay's Midnight Cowboy over the lid, Darkhorse in the crease and Stray Dog on the outer corners and underneath the eyes. I then used Seventeen's Tattoo Me Semi Permanent Liquid Liner to create a winged eyeliner. This eyeliner is very easy to use and lasts forever. It lasts so long that it's difficult to remove which is a pain but great for nights out. I used Seventeen's Doll'd Up Mascara which is amazing. A complete bargain and finally I used KIKO's Vivid Eyes Kajal and Eyeliner* on the waterline.

This wasn't an outfit that I really wanted to wear but seeing as I didn't bring any "going out clothes" back home, I had no choice. The outfit was really comfy though. I wanted my hair curled but I didn't take any curlers back home either and my GHD's just weren't curling anything. I looked in my wardrobe and saw the rag rollers that I used and they ended up making my hair look really nice which was a big surprise.

So there you have it! A last minute outfit, a use-what-you-have hair and make up look. What do you think?

POLYVORE: Spring daytime fashion

I've been playing around on Polyvore again - guilty! This time, the outfit was centred around Disco Pants. I own my own cheap eBay pair but they don't have the ever-so-famous button and zip on them so I'm currently on the look out for some new ones. I'm addicted to them. I think they're easy to wear, comfortable and extremely stylish. As soon as saw the New Look blouse, I fell in love. I think it's a great way to "dress up" an outfit and I love Peter Pan Collars - they're adorable. The bag, shoes and sunglasses give the outfit a little bit of colour and also match perfectly together. I chose Britney's Island Fantasy fragrance as it's a recent purchase of mine. Fragrance finishes an outfit off for me and this one is perfect for Spring/Summer in the day time as it's light, fruity and fresh.

By the time you're reading this, I'll be back in Lincoln. If it was up to me, I wouldn't be back there just yet but because of work, I have to. Luckily, as it was bank holiday, I had last Sunday off which meant that I was allowed to stay at home for a week longer than I'd originally planned. Yet now I'm back in Lincoln, I'm unsure if I want to be. I've really enjoyed being back home and none of my friends are back yet so it's pretty lonely. But hey-ho, plenty of time to catch up with blogging. I'm sorry that I haven't blogged much this week - it's been hectic but I promise I'll get back on track as I've missed it a lot. Not that much has happened this week - been out for a few meals, stayed at my mum's for a couple of nights and I've read three books so far. All Nicholas Sparks. This week I read The Lucky One, Safe Haven and A Walk To Remember. I've previously read Dear John and The Last Song but I want to read more of his stuff. I'm addicted. I love living in a fantasy world where everyone loves each other so if you have recommendations, let me know. I hope you've all had a fantastic week!

How to take advantage of: Social Media

For me, social media is a big part of my life which is something that my friends don't seem to understand. I can remember going to the VIVA Forever! cocktails launch with my fellow bloggers/YouTubers and everything we saw we said, "I need to Tweet that" or "I need to Instagram that." And I just felt at home. I love the way that within an instant, something you're thinking or something you're doing can be shared with hundreds, thousands and even millions of others. No matter where you are in the world. It's also a great tool for blogging which is the main reason why social media is a biggie for me. I thought I'd compile a little post on three social media tips and tricks as it's a wonderful way to increase your readership. 

1. Talk to other bloggers.
The best thing about blogger - for me anyway - is the community. There's nothing like chatting away to hundreds of other people who love exactly what you do. A great way to start is by using the #bbloggers hashtag on Twitter. You can use it all the time - there's no limit but there are dedicated chats every Wednesday and Sunday evening. You can find out more about these here.
2. Tag and mention brands.
When you've blogged about a certain product, make sure that you "@" the brand on Twitter or mention them on Facebook. The chances are, they'll notice your tweet and give it a little retweet which drives more traffic to your blog. It's also a great way to network with brands and if they notice you enjoy their products, who knows what they'll offer for you! Not just brands but make sure you follow PR companies in case any opportunities come up.
3. Don't just use Twitter and Facebook.
This about it, social network is huge. I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's the most used "thing" on the internet - even overtaking porn. So make sure you make the most. Use sites such as Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube etc. Don't just think about the obvious. Join every social network you possibly can and encourage your followers to follow you on them so that they can keep up with your posts.

REVIEW: Veil Cover Cream with Comparison Photos

This isn't the first time that I've blogged about Veil's Cover Cream*, I mentioned it in my "Skin Saviours" post earlier this month. Back then, I promised I would do a full review on it and today, that's exactly what I'm going to be doing. I've been using this for over a month now and I've fallen in love with it. Full coverage, cover creams are some of my favourite "foundations" as they cover absolutely everything. I also find that they don't cake on the skin. I've tried a few before (both of which I continue to use); Keromask, Dermablend and I love them both equally. Just like I love this one. I was sent the Demonstration Kit* which contains 20 colours and a sample of Veil's Finishing Powder. This kit is recommended for make up artists as it teaches you how to blend and work with colours to create the perfect shade. Obviously I'm not a make up artist but this kit has been wonderful for me to try out the shades available and get a feel for the texture. This Cover Cream blends flawlessly into the skin - I use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to get a beautiful finish - and once it's set, it doesn't budge throughout the rest of the day until you remove it. It feels light on the skin; it doesn't cake the skin in make up or make it look like you're wearing make up either. It is as full coverage as coverage gets and it completely covers up my scarring. As always, I've included a before/after comparison photo as for me, there's no better way for me to tell you how good a foundation is than showing you.

Just look at that! You can see exactly why I love it and why it's given me the confidence I needed again. I will be buying a full pot of this. A full pot of Veil's Cover Cream starts at £23 and you buy one here. If you're not someone who needs full coverage all over your skin then Veil's Cover Cream would be perfect as a concealer for you. A little goes a long way and a tub of this would last you forever. I was also sent their Cleansing Cream* which is a lovely cleanser to use. I apply it to my skin, massage it around and then remove with a flannel and it completely removes all traces of the Cover Cream in an instant.
