I Love Lip Balms!

My current obsession? Lip balms. Or lip butters, or whatever you want to call them! Basically, something that keeps my lips soft and smooth and hydrated all year round. I do aim on collecting the whole of the lip balm shelf in Boots by the end of 2011 lol!

This is where I store my lip balms. These drawers come in a set of 4 and were from Wilkinsons I do believe and were around the £5 mark.

First up are my Vaselines. I think I have every tinned Vaseline type (if I don't, please do let me know).
On the top row from left to right is Aloe Vera, Original, Rosy Lips and then on the bottom row left to right is SPF 15 and Cocoa Butter. When I heard Cocoa Butter was being released, I ran to Boots and got it the day it came out - shocking I know! My least favourite is Aloe Vera just because I'm not a fan of the taste and my favourite is SPF 15 in Summer and then the Rosy Lips. But they're all wonderful :)

Top Row L-R Lip Butter Papaya, Lip Butter Sweet Lemon. Bottom Row L-R Lip Balm Cool Mint, Lip Balm Watermelon.
These are all from the Body Shop. I'm not a fan of the lip butters because I think they're a bit thick and then I don't think the lip balms are moisturising enough. But all they taste lovely!

Top Row L-R Vitamin Water in Dragonfruit, Liz Earle Superbalm. Bottom Row L-R Carmex Original, Chapstick Cherry and Strawberry.
I love the Vitamin Water one, it tastes lovely and is incredibly moisturising. Next time I'm Boots, I'm going to try and different flavour. The Liz Earle Superbalm isn't just for the lips and a full review of this will be appearing this weekend so keep an eye out! I love Carmex, I'm not a fan of the taste but it's the one that works the best on chapped lips. As for the Chapsticks, they smell and taste beautiful and are pretty moisturising. I normally wear these under my lipstick.

What are your favourite lip balms? Any recommendations?

X-Factor Verdict

I'm a big fan of X Factor and this year, I'm enjoying it. Unfortunately, Wagner left last week which is pretty shocking because he was amazing ;) Anyway, I thought I'd give you my verdict of the final 5.

Rebecca. Just no. X Factor may well be a singing contest, but it's for making stars. This girl just cannot move. She doesn't even walk! Her performances are incredibly awkward and I definitely wouldn't buy tickets to her concert because I'd just fall asleep. My least favourite in the competition. Plus, she can only sing slow.

Mary is who I think will go tomorrow night. Ok, she has a good voice. But that's not really enough is it? To be a star and to make it into the music industry you have to have everything. And I personally wouldn't buy her songs. She's all just a bit, boring? I do prefer her to Rebecca though!

I don't understand the hype? He is not good looking at all, he always look like a tramp and he's never happy! His voice is good but once again, that's all he has. I swear he sings the same song every week!

I do like boy bands and I don't mind these. That's all I have to say.

I have lovedlovedloved Cher since her first audition. THIS is the music we need to hear right now. She can rap, she can sing, she can dance. She is a true performer and I would most definitely pay to see her live. She's just, wow. My favourite and she has to win!

And finally, a rant. Danni Minogue needs to shut up! What does Cher possibly have to do to please her? It's just because she knows that she is tough competition for Matt. To be honest Danni, 'Put The Needle On It' wasn't exactly a hit was it?

Who's your favourite this year?

I'm not doing a lot today, so I thought I'd do my make up, hair and wear my new jumper. All for sitting around the house. What a waste ey? But I though I'd show you all anyway :)

Once again, dodgy pose - sorry. I'm not good at OTD's because I always look weird!
Leggings - Primark
White Long Top - Select (I don't think anywhere does these anymore?)
Jumper - Primark
I do like winter weather, mainly because I love slouching around in knitted clothes!

HOTD?

I know right, a hair of the day? Especially seeing as it's just straight like it is every single day. But I'm really happy with my hair at the moment. I have started using all of the products from Tresemme's 24 Hour Body range (except the conditioner as I love my Liz Earle one too much), and my hair is just so healthy and full of life and body - oh and I still use my Herbal Essences Beautiful End Split End Protection Cream too. Full reviews on all of these products will be coming soon but I thought my hair deserved a special mention!

What face and hair products are you loving at the moment?

Nars Deepthroat Blush

I have had a few requests to do a review on Nars Deepthroat and because I love this blush I thought, why not?

My sister told me earlier that whilst she's at university she reads my blog so I must say a big hello to her! She's not very educated when it comes to beauty and I pick out the majority of her beauty collection lol.

Nars packaging looks gorgeous. It's black and rubber and feels very expensive (because it is!) and sleek. The blushes (and eyeshadows I do believe) come with a decent sized mirror which is great for touch ups. You don't need touch ups though as this blusher lasts me throughout the day. The only downside to this blush is that the out packaging gets dirty very quickly as you can see from the picture below.

On the Nars Website, DT is described as 'peach with shimmer.' I do agree with this, it's a beautiful peach colour that just lifts my whole complexion and leaves me looking healthy and flushed. As for the shimmer? In the pan, it's noticeable. Yet when it's on the skin it just sort of works as a highlighter and it's not that prominent - which I'm glad about as shimmer highlights my pores.

You can sort of see the colour on my cheeks here but not very well. Also, I apologise for that horrible piece of hair by my ear, the way I'm looking into the camera and how dodgy my ears look!

You can buy Nars products here and this blush retails at £19.50.
Have you ever tried any Nars blushers? And do you recommend any Nars products?

October Favourites

It's been a long time since I've done a 'favourites' post. I do take pictures and plan the post but whenever I get round to writing it, it's already time for the next month so never actually end up posting it. However, this month I'm early!

VO5 High Volume Hair Spray - This hairspray is definitely one of my favourites. I spray it all over my hair before I go outside and my hairstyle doesn't frizz or curl throughout the day.
Tangle Teezer - This brush comes everywhere with me and I think it's time I invested in the travel version before this one gets ruined. It brushes threw hair with ease no matter how messy it is. And it's bright pink. What's not to love?
Lush's Snow Fairy Shower Gel - The best product from Lush. Smells gorgeous (like jelly beans I think), it's pink and it has irridescent glitter in it. I definitely need to stock up.
Vichy Normaderm - I don't want to spoil this as a full review will be coming soon but this moisturiser is the best I've ever tried.

ELF Studio Powder Brush - I use this to apply foundation with and it gives flawless coverage with no streaks. I love it.
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation - My perfect foundation that I've gone back to this month. It doesn't budge and gives full coverage.
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - A silky powder that keeps my make up in place throughout the day and also keeps my skin shine free for a long amount of time.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer + Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer - This is the concealer duo that I use as they both last for a long amount of time and provide great coverage.

Urban Decay Naked Palette - The best eyeshadow palette out there in my opinion. It provides lots of different, wearable looks.
ELF Mineral Lipstick in Rosy Raisin - A beautiful 'vintage' pink colour that is the perfect my lips but better shade.
Urban Decay Primer Potion - The perfect primer for the eyes; eyeshadow doesn't budge all day when this has been used.
ELF Plumping Lip Glaze in Baby Doll - A gorgeous light, dolly pink colour. It's great for wearing to college or when I have a dominant eye combination.
Nars Blush in Deep Throat - I'm so happy that I've got this! It's the most wonderfully soft blush I've tried and it's a peachy pink colour that matches my complexion gorgeously.

L-R ELF Rosy Raisin Lipstick, ELF Baby Doll Lip Glaze, Nars Deep Throat Blush.

What products have you been loving this month?

Fade Out Extra Care Fade Cream - Night REVIEW

I was sent this product by Beauty Judge (thanks!) for reviewing purposes but of course, this doesn't effect my review. Also, this review is taken straight off of Beauty Judge.

First of all, I'll tell you a little bit about my skin. It's combination, spot prone and due to having a lot of spots in my teenage years (I'm still a teenager but you get this jist), I have bad acne scarring which of course, kills my confidence. When Beauty Judge asked me to try out this moisturises, I immediately said yes. I have been on the lookout for a product to reduce my scars for what seems like forever so of course, I had to give this a try.

The moisturiser comes in a white plastic tub that doesn't have the most attractive packaging in the world but it is very convenient. If you unscrew the lid, there's one of those plastic top things that keep the product inside and reduces spillages - great! I'm a big lover of nice smells and I must mention that this doesn't smell nice at all, it's very chemically. Some of you may like this however, I'm not keen at all. At one point, I considered stopping using it and if it wasn't for this review, I would've done. But now I've grown used to it and it doesn't bother me.

The cream itself is pretty thick and because my skin is combination, it does make it a little greasy for a while but after about 5 minutes, it skins in. Because the consistency of the cream is thick, you only need a tiny pea sized amount to cover the whole face, so it's great value for money - and it's cheap in the first place too! I believe it's around the £5 mark for a 50ml tub. This cream is to be applied at night (hence the name, fade cream night) and it's recommended that you use the day cream along with it. I don't think I would use the day cream because it's probably as heavy as this one and would make my skin pretty shiny.

As for the results of this cream? I can definitely see them! My scars have faded and they're not so prominant on my skin now. I don't have to use as much foundation/concealer to cover them up either. I honestly was a bit sceptical about this product at first because it is on the cheap side, yet I was wrong. This is wonderful. I have been using this for around 4 weeks now and I have seen an improvement of around 30-40% which is fantastic. I will definitely continue to use this and hopefully, my scarring should be virtually invisible within a few months. Also, this tub will last me an incredibly long amount of time - I've only used around 4% of it in 4 weeks.

I also must add, this did break me out a little bit. But as it was a new product, I was expecting this. Also, on open spots, it does sting.

Beware, these before/after pictures aren't very attractive!

Can you see the difference? I certainly can!

Lush Think Pink Hat Box

If you don't know by now, then you have been living under a rock haha, but my sister is currently at University and luckily, she's close enough to come back whenever she wants :). As a late present for passing my driving test and getting good AS level results and also, just cos she loves me ;), she brought me back a gift from Lush that I have wanted for ages! It's the Lush Think Pink Hatbox that retails at £40!

The box was a lot nicer when I received it but I quickly unwrapped it haha.

This is discontinued now but it is Lush's Yummy Yummy Yummy shower cream wash. I brought one the other month and I am so glad that I received another in my giftset! It smells just like stawberries and I love love love it!

Ring of Roses Butter Cream is like a body butter, except it's actually a soap! This is my new favourite Lush product as it smells absolutely beautiful and it's so moisturising on the skin.

Next up is the Sugar Babe scrub which is a body scrub - of course. This smells gorgeous and also has some kind of moisturiser in the middle. I haven't tried it yet but I will definitely report back!

A Melting Marshmallow Moment which if you read my blog, you'll know I love!

The Creamy Candy Bubblebar which I have wanted for such a long time - I can't wait to use this, it smells gorgeous.

Rockstar Soap. I did love this at first, but I just don't find myself using it. However, this is smaller, so it's probably going to be easier to use. And it smells wondeful.

Sex Bomb Bath Ballistic. Yet another Lush product that smells gorgeous - for a change ;) I can't wait to use it!

The Comforter bubble bar. This is huge! 200g. I used this tonight and cut it up into 4 pieces and there were so many bubbles! And the bath turned a gorgeous deep pink colour. And once again, smelt gorgeous! Love this.

Fair Trade Foot Lotion. This is just beautiful! So moisturising and smells minty and feels minty on the feet.

Think Pink Bath Ballistic. Another one that I can't wait to try out :)

Helping Hands hand lotion - which is pink in this giftset!

Overall, I love all of these products. They smell beautiful, look gorgeous and of course, my sister brought them me so they're even more special.
