What I wore to my graduation

If you don't follow me on social media then you probably won't know that this time last week I was graduating from the University of Lincoln. I won't delve too much into the day itself but it truly was a special and proud day. The ceremony itself was held in Lincoln's cathedral and castle which created a magical setting.

The university's colours are blue and yellow so I instantly knew I wanted to wear a blue dress. Chi Chi very kindly sent me their Jenny dress* which is absolutely beautiful. It's such a princess dress and extremely well made. It has a low back but luckily comes complete with a padded bust meaning that there's no need to wear a bra. As someone with DD boobs I can vouch for the padding and say it worked very well - I was even complimented on how "great" my boobs looked on the day. Ahh, boys.

I bought my shoes from the New Look sale and although they weren't the most comfortable, they were very easy to walk in. If you've ever been to Lincoln then you'll realise how important a good pair of shoes is - there streets are cobbled! I wore a simple necklace from Primark and my fake tan is by Nottingham's Saks salon and Xen-Tan (which I've reviewed before). The nail polish on my toes is KIKO's Poker Nail Lacquer in 05* and on my fingernails is Models Own's Coconut Cream*.

Outfit of the day and a blogging break

Recently my blogging schedule has gone out of the window and I've decided to take a bit of a blogging break. This could be for a couple of days, a couple of weeks or even a few months. I won't go into too much detail but I think I need a bit of me-time, and a step away from social media. It won't be forever, I absolutely adore blogging and the escape it provides me. But I need to put myself first sometimes.

In case you didn't know, I've been working for The Nottingham Post for the past four weeks and because of this, I've featured in their newspaper and on their website a couple of times. If you're interested, you can view my features here and here. I quite like the outfit that I put together for their "fashion blogger" segment so decided to showcase it on my blog.

I do apologise about the photo. It's no secret that I'm useless when it comes to taking outfit photos. But the sun was shining so I definitely made the most. I've recently been adoring midi skirts as I find them flattering and classy. I'd be eyeing up this one from Matalan for ages so when I saw it in the sale, I knew I had to snap it up. I also love the fact that it's pink too.

WIWT | New Years Eve

Blouse: Primark
Necklace: Primark
Disco Pants: eBay
Heels: Steve Madden

Two WIWT's in two days?! Oh you lucky sods. I didn't want to write the usual "Happy New Year" blog post because quite frankly, I'm fed up of seeing them. My BlogLovin' feed was covered in them when I woke up this morning. I did, however, want to show you what I wore last night. Some of you may have already seen it on Instagram but nonetheless, here it is again. In a last minute "I have nothing to wear" panic, I hit town yesterday looking for a new dress. When I realised that the dresses were awful, I decided I'd wear my Disco Pants with this beautiful blouse from Primark. The colours are stunning, the fit is flattering and the price (£12) was even better - I'm addicted. I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and I wish you all the best in 2014. Bamboozle Beauty is going to be four years old in just a few days - absolute madness! Thank you for making 2013 special.

WIWT | The day after Boxing Day

Top: New Look (Christmas present from my mum)
Blazer: Primark (very old)
Scarf: Christmas present from my sister
Lens mug: Christmas present from my dad and stepmum
Leggings: F&F at Tesco

When it comes to taking outfit posts, we all know that I'm an absolute mess. In all honesty, I have no idea what I'm doing and I shy away from the camera. Regardless of this, the day after Boxing Day, I went to Meadowhall with my dad and stepmum which was absolutely hectic! I loved my "day after Boxing Day" outfit so much that I thought; "to hell with it!" and here you have a very badly photographed WIWT. As soon as I opened this top from my mum, I knew I was going to get so much wear out of it. Not only are the colour and fit beautiful, but I'm a huge owl fan too. The scarf from my sister is definitely "me" and since opening it, I haven't taken it off - no literally, I was wearing it on Christmas Day in my pyjamas. As for the lens mug... HOW AMAZING IS IT?! It was also filled with sachets of hot chocolate. I adore it so much. But anyway, now I have my new camera, I promise I will try and get better at these things now. I am attending an SLR course in March so hopefully I'll be able to say, "forget the landscapes, teach me how to take OOTD posts." Then again, maybe not...

What did you wear around Christmas time?

LIFESTYLE | Sibling's graduation & WIWT

Those who know me will know that my sister is my world. And yesterday was her graduation. Like myself, she too attends (attended) the University of Lincoln and ever since I found out that she'd be graduating back in June, I've been extremely excited. I've had my dressed picked out for what seems like forever and known down to point how I'd be doing my make up. The wonderful thing about graduating from Lincoln is the fact that the ceremony is held in the wonderful cathedral. It's a truly stunning setting and adds to the atmosphere like no other.

My dress is the lovely Chi Chi Callie Dress which I won in a Facebook competition earlier this year. It's beautiful and seeing as the Lincoln colours are yellow and blue, I thought it fitted the occasion perfectly. It's nicely made and holds you in in all the right places. The thing I loved the most about this dress is the fact that it has a padded bust which is essentially an inbuilt bra. I'm quite busty and whenever clothing items usually say that they come with "built in support" it's a complete waste of time. However, this dress was perfect for supporting the erm, boobage and allowed the cut out in the back to shine without nasty bra straps poking through.

I won't go into too much detail about the ceremony as it is a personal thing but it was truly lovely. Even hearing "woos" and "yeahhh" from other people's family members in the audience as their loved ones went up and graduated was really nice. Afterwards, we took lots of photos and then went out for a meal. It was a wonderful day because the majority of my family attended - dad, mum, stepmum, stepdad, grandparents and my sister's best friend was there too. So yes, I just wanted to show you my dress and a few photos from the day. Oh and my shoes are from New Look in case you were wondering. They're pretty much the only heels I own!

Have you been to a graduation before? What do you think of the Chi Chi dress?

WIWT | They say we're too young for love but I'm catching feelings

Shirt: Primark
Shorts: Matalan
Necklace: Primark
Gold nailsModels Own Hed Kandi in Bora Bora*

Another outfit of the day? Oh you poor souls. The reason for this one is because of the necklace. I love statement necklaces under collars and have done for a while. But you know, I've been waiting for payday to show its little face before I could "invest" in one. The one I'm wearing above is from Primark and it cost me the grand total of £1 - not much of an investment there. It was in the sale (there's nothing quite like a Primark sale, is there?!) and it was reduced from a mear £3. I highly recommend checking out the bargainous store as they have a lot of cute statement necklaces in there at the moment. This one, I believe, adds an "edge" to the dainty blouse and the neon really "pops" and catches your eyes. The shorts are from the back of my wardrobe and I haven't wore them in yonks. I bought them from Matalan a good two years ago and I absolutely love them paired with this blouse (the blouse the Spice Girls have touched I must add). As for my nails, aren't they pretty?! This is my favourite nail combination at the moment - beautiful.

Do you love statement necklaces? What's your favourite nail combination?

WIWT | Cool breeze kissing the sea

Sunglasses: Boots
BlouseOasis*
ShortsPrimark
BraceletsPrimark & a gift from my mum

Props to you if you know the song from the title of this post - it's a '99 classic, I'll tell ya! Ahh, outfit of the day posts. They're always something that I shy away from but with the sun out in full force today, the lighting in my apartment was too good for me to miss the opportunity. I also wanted to show you these shorts. I bought them two summers ago so I doubt you'll be able to get your mitts on them now unfortunately but I can't stop wearing them at the minute. They cost me a measly £3 which is something you definitely can't complain about - it's no wonder Primark is my favourite store, is it? They're a little bit big and I am insecure about my flabby legs but you know what, it's summer, it's boiling and I'd be stupid to cover up any more. You might recognise this top from a post I did a few weeks ago and although at first I wasn't sure about the high/low hem, I'm now a big fan. It covers everything I want it to at the back and floats around all prettily in the sun. So yes, there you have it. An outfit of the day post. I apologise for the dodgy posing, the awkward mess in my room and my "definitely-needs-redoing" ombre.

What's your current summer wardrobe staple? Would you like to see more outfit posts from me? I promise I'll get better!
