The long lasting make up

L-R CARGO Water Resistant Blush in Ibiza, CARGO Water Resistant Bronzer, KIKO Eyetech Look Eyeshadow in 112, KIKO Long Lasting Colour Lip Marker in 108
I do understand that this post might be a little bit controversial but I for one, hate not wearing make up. My skin isn't good and I don't feel comfortable leaving the house without a little bit of slap on. When the weather is hot or you're away by the pool, I understand that for some of you, applying make up is a no-go but for me, it's a necessity. And luckily for girls like myself, there are some wonderful products out there that stay put no matter what.

I've raved about this product before and I'll continue to rave it about it every summer until I'm at least 60. This product is what I've been waiting for my entire life - an SPF that gives you damn good coverage. This protects you against UVA and UVB rays with an SPF of 30 so although it's not ideal for nights out or weddings, it's perfect for when you're out and about in the sun. This provides medium coverage that covers my scarring with no need for extra concealer. It set to a matte finish that doesn't dry the skin out and keeps it hydrated all day long. Literally the most perfect summer base product, ever.

This blush is great for injecting a bit of colour into your cheeks and the colour is an instant perk-me-up that makes me happy. The longwearing formula of this blush means that you don't have to bother with reapplication so it's perfect in hot weather. I absolutely adore CARGO as a brand - their pretty and simple packaging is gorgeous and the formula of this blush is outstanding too. It's finely milled and looks gorgeous swept over the cheeks.

This bronzer has tiny shimmer particles so although I wouldn't recommend it for contouring, I'd highly recommend it for adding a natural glow to your skin. The colour is deep enough to bronze up your complexion but light enough to stop it from looking muddy. There isn't a hint of orange insight just lots of little golden flecks of shimmer that reflect when the sun hits them - absolutely beautiful.

I was going to include a mascara in this post but unfortunately, I don't own a waterproof mascara and I never have done. I've never had an issue with mascara lasting all day long on my lashes and I'm quite blessed with long ones so a quick squeeze of the eyelash curlers and I'm good to go at times. There are a few bad reviews about these lash curlers on the Boots website but I for one can't find a fault in them - they do the job afterall and with the £3 off No7 voucher, they're a right bargain.

Oh I couldn't go anywhere without my brows on. I love many brow palettes but this offering from HD Brows really does earn its place at the top of the leaderboard when it comes to longevity. Once my eyebrows have been shaped and filled in with this, they do not budge. I'm telling you now, I've showered and bathed and the powder still doesn't move until I use a proper make up remover. Pretty good.

If you're going away then you need to invest in one of these. Not only are they small, portable and perfect for your luggage but they're highly pigmented and last all long without the need for a primer. I don't know what it is about the summer that makes me bring out the blue eyeshadow underneath my lash line but I do quite like it - especially this blue. It's deep but bright and has the most gorgeous shimmer running throughout it. KIKO also claim that these little eyeshadows last 150 applications which is outstanding for the price.

It was hard for me to swatch this baby for you. Not because it's awful but because the swatch - no matter how hard I scrub - will be left on my hand for days. When KIKO say "long lasting colour" they sure do mean it. The pigment is intense and these lip markers are easy to work with. Essentially you can line and fill in your lips quickly and easily and not have to worry about transferring the colour onto anything you touch. These really are fantastic in terms of longevity and you can see my full review with further lip swatches here.

What are your favourite long lasting make up products? Have you ever tried any of the ones mentioned above?

FOTN: Pumped Up Kicks

On Wednesday night I went out and I really liked my make up so I thought I'd show you what I did. I've done this Face of the Night different to what I'd usually do. This is because I haven't just listed the products I've sort of explained where/how I used them and why. So if you like this, let me know!
SKIN: When I'm going out I do use a lot of products on my skin because I don't like the way it looks. I do have scarring and I do sometimes have active breakouts. Luckily, my skin has improved a lot recently but I still love having flaw-free skin when I go out. I start off by priming my skin and for this look I used the L'OrĂ©al Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer - £14.29 which I've been loving so much recently. I then went on to use my Skin 79 Super BB Cream - £16.00 as an extra layer of 'foundation' really helps to give a flawless look. For foundation I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation - £27.50 as it's one of my favourites and one that I'll always have in my collection. It provides full coverage and it doesn't budge once it's dried onto the skin. For concealer I used my No7 Trio Concealer - £9.50. I'll be doing a review of this product soon but basically I used the pink toned concealer under my eyes and the yellow toned concealer on any redness. I then concealed my scars and blemishes with Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection concealer - £4.19. After this, I powdered my skin with 17's Miracle Matte Pressed Powder - £3.99 and contoured my cheekbones, forehead and nose with Liz Earle's Natural Glow Bronzer* - £19.50. For blusher I used Nars Deepthroat - £21.00 and as it's really glowy I didn't use a highlighter.
EYES: I primed my eyes using Urban Decay's Primer Potion - £14.50 and then used Maybelline's Color 24 HR Tattoo in On and On Bronze - £4.99 as a base to intensify the shadow. I then used Urban Decay's Smog over my lid and Urban Decay's Hustle in the crease. After this I used Urban Decay's Blackout lightly on the outer corners of my eyes to make the eyes a bit darker and smokier. For a highlight I used Urban Decay's Sin. All of these can be found in the Urban Decay Naked palette - £36.00 except for Blackout which is in the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette - £36.00. For eyeliner I used Collection 2000's Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner - £2.99 which is my favourite at the moment as it's so easy to use and nicely pigmented. I then used Lancome's Hypnose Drama Mascara - £20.50 on my lashes which is amazing! I need to buy the full sized version of this as I only have a sample. For my eyebrows I lightly used Liz Earle's Eyebrow Pencil in 02* and then made them stronger with my HD Brow Palette* - £19.96. To set my brows I used the my Collection 2000 Clear Mascara - £2.99.
LIPS: I didn't use a lot on my lips but I did scrub them with Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub - £5.25 and I used my EOS Lemon Drop SPF 15 Lip Balm* - £4.95 to make sure they were soft. I then used No7's Lipstick in Starshell - £9.00 which is a lovely nude colour as my eyes were quite intense.

TAG: How Much Is My Face Worth? (Everyday Make Up)

I've done one of these before but I've seen them making the rounds in the blogosphere more recently and considering my everyday make up routine has changed a lot, I thought I'd show you it. Also, I'm pretty curious to find out how much my face is worth as it's definitely interesting.
Avene Eau Thermale Spring Water Spray* - £6.50
I use this to set my make up and also to refresh it throughout the day.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr Foundation - £27.00
I've rediscovered this and I use it as my foundation as it lasts all day and looks flawless.
Superfacialist By Una Brennan Tea Flower Anti-Shine Pore Minimiser* - £12.99
I use this as my primer as it helps eliminate shine and minimise pores.
Collection 2000 Coloured Mascara Clear - £2.99
I use this on my eyebrows to keep them in place all day.
No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara - £12.50
This is obviously my mascara and I love it as you can build up the volume.
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer - £5.99
This is the concealer that I use underneath my eyes as it makes them look more awake.
Keromask Camouflage Cream* - £14.99
I use this as concealer on my face because it covers everything - even my scarring.
MAC Lipstick in Please Me - £14.00
This lipstick is beautiful and very easy to wear in the daytime. It's a matte pink.
Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer* - £19.50
I use this to contour my nose and cheekbones and also to add a nice glow to the skin.
HD Brow Palette* - £19.96
My brows are very sparse so I use this to fill them in.
17 Miracle Matte Pressed Powder - £3.99
I use this to powder my skin. I love it because it holds the make up in place and keeps it shine free.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24HR by Eyestudio in Eternal Gold - £4.99
I sweep this all across the lids and underneath the eyes. It's so beautiful and makes the eyes pop.
MAC Sheertone Blush in Pink Swoon - £17.50
Because this is a matte blush it's great for daytime wear and makes me look more glowing.
Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black - £2.99
I use this as my eyeliner on my upper lash line as it's so easy to use and perfect for winging eyeliner out.
No7 Metallic Eyes Pencil in Black - £7.75
I use this on my waterline and tightline as it's very pigmented and lasts all day.
= £173.64 which when you divide by 30 days equals to around £5.80 a day. That isn't too bad. Especially because a lot of the products do last a lot longer than 30 days. I've used the HD Brow palette pretty much everyday since I received it a year ago and I still haven't hit pan on it. If you've done one of these, feel free to link it below as I love seeing them! And if not, make sure you do one :)

ROUTINE: Quick & easy 2 minute flawless make up

For most of the summer, I've been working every day from 8-4:30 at my dad's work to earn a bit of extra money for university next year. Considering my dad works in Nottingham and we live in Mansfield, I have to wake up every morning at 6am. Now, at 6am the last thing I want to do is apply a full face of make up that takes ages to do so by trial and error, I've found a few 'wonder' products that literally take me a couple of minutes to apply.
Collection 2000 Coloured Mascara in Clear
This is what I use to set my brows with and I've mentioned it on my blog many times. It's cheap and it does a great job at not only holding my brows in place but also brushing through them.
Liz Earle Sheer Skin Tint
This is a tinted moisturiser and it's the only tinted moisturiser that I own and probably will ever own. I don't have perfect skin and I need quite a lot of coverage so tinted moisturisers normally aren't for me. But this one is lovely. It's not sheer coverage - more like light coverage that can be built up where you need it. It's also quick and easy to apply and blends like a dream. I also love this because it's the only 'foundation' that's light enough for my skin at the moment and I haven't been fake tanning.
No7 Shine Free Make-Up Base
Because the foundation that I use is a tinted moisturiser, it's not that great at keeping shine at bay on my combination skin throughout the day so I do have to use a shine controlling primer. This one by No7 is really nice to use. It's sometimes hard to apply as instead of blending over the skin, it sort of drags in a way but it does control shine throughout the whole day.
Skin79 Super Plus Triple Function (Hot Pink) BB Cream
I love everything about this BB cream! I use this underneath the Liz Earle Skin Tint to provide me with extra coverage and it does just that. In a morning, I don't have time to apply sun protection but this one comes with 25++ SPF in it already. The coverage of this is fantastic - so fantastic that it's on par with foundation. It also lasts throughout the day and well, I just love everything about this. I did a full review of this product with before/after comparison photos here.
No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick
As the name suggests, this covers imperfections quickly and easily. It's easy to blend and provides full coverage where you need it. I don't use it every day, just when I need a bit more coverage if I breakout.
Natural Collection Corrector Stick
If you have scarring then I highly recommend buying a green toned concealer stick to counteract redness. This one is £1.99 and it's really great. I use it after primer but before my BB cream/foundation and it really helps to cover up my scars.
17 Shine Control Loose Powder
My favourite powder. It controls shine, it's easy to use and it's really cheap.
HD Brow Palette
And finally, I have to fill in my brows using this palette. I never use anything else on my brows because this is just fabulous!
What products do you recommend for a quick and easy make up look? Have you tried any of the above?

BRITNEY SERIES: 'In The Zone' Inspired Make Up Look

I was looking through my Britney inspired make up looks when it occurred to me that I've never recreated my favourite Britney make up ever. This is from a photoshoot from 2003 that was for her In The Zone album and I can remember being 10 years old and looking through the album booklet, staring at how beautiful she is. The eye make up is golden, the skin is glowing and the lips are nude. It's also very wearable.
Skin
On my skin I used Benefit's Porefessional as a base and Keromask Camouflage Cream* as my foundation as I needed my skin to look as flawless as possible. I then concealed using Collection 2000's Lasting Perfection as it's a great full coverage concealer. I went on to powder the skin with 17's Pressed Powder as it adds a bit more coverage and it's semi-matte. After this, I used my Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer* as a blush and Sleek's Contour Kit highlighter to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and also my cheekbones.
Eyes
I primed my eyes using Urban Decay's Primer Potion and I then went on to use the Naked palette. I covered the entire eyelid in Virgin as a base and then sweeped Half Baked over my eye lid and also underneath my eye. I then used the colour Smog all over my crease and all underneath my eye in the middle. I then finished off with Darkhorse in the outer crease and also the outer corner underneath my eye. After this, I thinly lined my eye using 17's Liquid Liner on top and No7's Metallic Eye Pencil in Blackout on my waterline. To finish off, I used No7's Exceptional Definition mascara on my lashes and the HD Brow palette* on my eye brows.
Lips
For my lips I used a Natural Collection lip liner in Almond and added gloss which was Urban Decay's Lip Junkie in Naked.
L-R Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer, Sleek Contour Kit highlight, Virgin, Half Baked, Smog, Darkhorse, 17's Liquid Liner, No7 Metallic Eye Pencil in Blackout, HD Brow Palette, Natural Collection lip liner in Almond, Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Naked.
So that is the finished look and swatches. I ended up really like it. My skin was very full on which if I was going to wear this look during the day time, I'd have toned down quite a bit - I probably wouldn't have used the Keromask foundation but instead switched for my Skin79 BB Cream as it still provides great coverage. I loved the eyes and I can see myself wearing them a lot and also surprisingly, I loved the lips. The colours didn't wash me out and created a beautiful nude lip colour. What do you think of this look?

What's In My... 'Travel' Make Up Bag

First thing's first, I must apologise about the shocking picture. This was the best of a bad bunch and for some reason, these products (minus the HD Brow Palette) didn't want to photograph at all. But I really wanted to write this post so I thought a bad picture is better than no post! Recently I'm in between Mansfield and Lincoln because university is finished but I still have my job out there. I don't want to take all my make up back to Mansfield yet as I love blogging at Lincoln so I've just taken a small bag full of my current favourite products at the moment and here they are...
On my skin I've currently been loving both the No7 Shine Free Primer - £11.00 and the Benefit Porefessional Primer - £23.50. I use the No7 primer on my t-zone to keep my skin matte and the Benefit primer on my cheeks to cover up my pores. The combination of both works really well and I've been using these two together every day. When it comes to foundation I've rediscovered MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation - £23.00. It provides great coverage that's natural looking and isn't too heavy when applied to the skin. I do sometimes get red skin so I usNatural Collection Corrector Stick - £1.99 which I bought just so I could get 50 Boots points. But I do love it. It's a bit chalky so it needs warming up but it does a great job at concealing redness for such a cheap price. I've been combining two concealers together; the Max Factor Pan Stix - £6.99 which essentially is a foundation but my skin hasn't been that bad recently so I don't use it as a foundation as it is full coverage. And the No7 Quick Cover Blemish Stick - £8.00 which provides good coverage that lasts throughout the day. I haven't been using any powder on my skin as my primers are that good but I have been using both the Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer* - £19.50 and MAC Powder Blush in Pink Swoon - £17.50 to perk my skin up and provide me with a lovely colour. Both are very natural, matte and do a great job at warming and brightening the skin. Of course on my eyes I've been using the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette - £36.00 which is the best nude, natural palette out there. I've then been using the 17 Liquid Liner - £3.99 to define my eyes and finishing off with my new favourite mascara, No7 Exceptional Definition Mascara - £12.50 which is great for volumising and defining the lashes. On my bottom lashes I've been using a mascara by Flutter which I received at Christmas. It's a small mascara which is great for using on the bottom lashes. As always on my eye brows I've been using the HD Brow Palette* - £19.95 to fill my brows in and setting them with the Collection 2000 Colour Lash Mascara in Clear - £2.99. And finally I've been completing the look with 17 Mirror Shine On Lipstick in Belle - £4.59 which is a lovely nude lip colour that hydrates the lips.

Outfit & Face of the Night: No Longer Freshers

Last night was pretty much the end of my first university year. Yesterday, me and my friends went out for a meal and then went out to a nightclub to celebrate the end of our first year. We also ended up having a sleepover at one of my friends flat and finally when we woke up this morning (or should I say afternoon) we took a trip to Morrison's cafe. Some of us are still here and we'll definitely be coming back to university for a few days at a time but last night was what I'd say was our last night as freshers. It's going to be strange not being around my friends at university any more as we've pretty much spent every hour of every day with each other. It's been a wonderful year.. definitely the best of my life and I can't wait until September!
This is the outfit that I wore. Both the play-suit and the shoes were both from New Look. And surprisingly, the shoes are very comfortable and I rarely ever took them off. If you know me, then you'll know that when it comes to heels, I walk to the club in them and take them off pretty much instantly so this is a big achievement for me! I really love the play-suit but it is pretty revealing and I had a few people on 'boob watch' all night. We even used body tape but that was useless and lasted for around an hour.
Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of my make up before I went out but these are the pictures that probably show it off best. I went for a more natural look with my eyes and I used Urban Decay's Sidecar and Darkhorse from the Naked Palette on my eyes as well as my favourite eyeliner from 17 and my favourite mascara from 17 also. On my eyebrows I used my trusty HD Brow Palette* and my Collection 2000 clear mascara to keep them in place all night. You can find out how I did my base make up here - the only difference is that I used the wonderful Benefit Porefessional Primer before all of my foundations/concealers/bb creams/powders etc. To contour my face I used the Liz Earle Natural Glow Bronzer* and to brighten my face up I used my favourite blush which is Nars Deepthroat. My fake tan is also Xen-Tan* and my nails (which you can't see but I will be doing a blog post on) are from imPress nails.*
A few of us who went out.
Overall it's been a wonderful year and I wouldn't change any of it. I've met the greatest people and I know we're all going to be good/best friends for the rest of our lives. If I could say one thing to anyone; if you have the chance to go to university, go. You won't regret it. And the debt? Doesn't matter one bit. It's all worth it.

A quick post to show you my make up and outfit from last night. So there is my very nerdy outfit of the night! Have you ever dressed up as a geek before? In all honesty, I didn feel pretty uncomfortable in such a tight skirt!

FOTN - My 19th Birthday

Taking a break from writing my essay and I thought I'd do a quick blog post on my face of the night from last night. In all honesty, I've probably had way too many breaks but hey ho!
Foundation - Estee Lauder's Double Wear
Concealer - Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection
Powder - Rimmel Stay Matte
Bronzer - Sleek Contour Kit
Highlighter - Sleek Contour Kit
Blush - Nars Deepthroat
Eyeshadows - No7's Stay Perfect in Antique Rose, Urban Decay's Toasted & Urban Decay's Sin

The only problem is, I found these ones pretty uncomfortable. I also have a haul for you on things I got for my birthday but I suppose I should get this essay finished first!
Thank you for all your birthday messages yesterday, I really appreciate it :)

November Favourites

L-R Tigi Bed Head Sugar Shock Hair Bodifying Sugar Spray, Boots Essentials Nail Polish Remover, Diego Dalla Palma Make Up Fixer, Diego Dalla Palma Calze Spray (Body Foundation), Boots Extracts Cranberry Body Wash, Britney Spears Cosmic Radiance Perfume.

The Bed Head Sugar Spray is a product that I've been using non-stop whenever I'm going on a night out. It adds volume but doesn't leave a sticky layer on the hair. It's easy to brush out and smells beautiful. The smell takes me back to my childhood - it reminds me of this doll. I absolutely adore the Boots Nail Polish remover.. it's better than some of the more expensive brand that I've tried and it's only around £1. The Make Up Fixer and Body Foundation are the first products I've tried from Diego Dalla Palma and I absolutely love them! The Make Up Fixer keeps my make up in place all day and all night long - it doesn't budge when I've sprayed this. The Body Foundation is like a fake tan with the added bonus of covering up imperfections. I've had a lot of bruises on my legs recently and this covered them all! The Boots Extract Body Wash is the only body wash I've been using this month. It smells absolutely beautiful! I also have the matching body lotion and I wouldn't be with them. And of course, I've been loving Britney's Cosmic Radiance fragrance. It's probably my favourite Britney perfume ever! It can be worn during the day and at nighttime - it's versatile.
L-R Corn Silk Face Powder Semi-Matt, TRESemme Split Remedy Split Med Intense Recovery Masque, HD Brow Palette.

The Corn Silk Face Powder is the only face powder I've been using recently. A woman in Boots mentioned it to me and she recommended it as well.. So I had to have it. It isn't cakey and it leaves the skin looking healthy and pore-free! Of course, I don't have my hair cut so I have to look after my hair really well and the TRESemme Split Remedy range has done a great job of ensuring that my hair is healthy and vibrant. I love the hair masque - it really detangles my hair and adds shine but without weighing it down. My friend has recently sorted my eyebrows out for me and the HD Brow Palette is my number 1 love at the moment. It's amazing what a difference good eyebrows make. And finally, my Pan Oxyl has helped me out a lot this month as my skin has been a nightmare!

What have you been loving this month?

What Do I Use On My Eyebrows?

I never really used to be interested in my eyebrows. I used to get them waxed and leave them how they were. However, after watching many people on YouTube and seeing the difference that filling in your eyebrows makes, I started doing it. And these are the products that I use:
L-R HD Brows Palette in Foxy, Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in 004 Black Brown
The first product that I bought for my eyebrows was the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil. I do like this, it's okay. I don't think it's anything special though. The brush that comes on the end is a bit too taut and I don't think it brushes through my eyebrows very well. And the formula of the pencil isn't too good either. It's okay, it does the job. But it's not my favourite. However, it is very good for travelling as it's small and you don't have to take a separate brush with you.

Now, the HD Brow Palette is my baby! I absolutely love it! As you can see from the photo, one of the colours is a little bit worn - it's not because I've used it that much it's just because unfortunately it got smashed in the post. But hey ho! Now, I have this in the colour Foxy which is for brunettes. It includes a nude, carbon eyeshadow and two medium brown tone powders. This palette can also be used as an eyeshadow palette to create both a warm, natural daytime look or a night time look - it's very versatile. The shades are obviously matte and they are of a medium pigmentation. Which for eyebrows, is perfect. They're not too soft or too hard.. they're just the perfect formulation for eyebrow use. As eyeshadows they do take a little bit more work. But look fabulous! Also, these palettes have been reformulated and the powders now are anti-smudge and they last all day. I can do my eyebrows in the morning and they'll see me through to nighttime. I also use the brushes that are included - they're really soft and great for combing through my eyebrows and picking up the powders. This palette also comes in two other colours so there's one to suit your hair colour:
Bombshell: For blondes…a nude, a carbon shadow, and two blonde tone powders. When used as an eye shadow palette, this will create a cool natural daytime look and a soft evening look.
Foxy: (the colour that my palette is in) For brunettes…a nude, a carbon shadow, and two medium brown tone powders. Use this as an eye shadow palette to create a warm natural daytime look or a smouldering night time look.
Vamp: For dark hair…a nude, a carbon shadow, and two dark brown tone powders. Used as an eye shadow palette, this will create a dramatic smoky look
The top four colours are from the HD Brow Palette and the swatch at the bottom is the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil.

The HD Brow Palette is available to buy here and it will cost you £19.95 however this compact will be in GlossyBox's 13th-19th September box!
