NAILS | Dielle Nail Colour in Restored Treasure

The thing that separates Dielle nail colours from other polishes is that they don't contain any toxic ingredients that are found in many other nail polishes. For those of you interested, these polishes are free of Toluene, Formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor and Phthalic Acid and Parabens. My nails aren't in the best condition and although I look after them pretty well, excessive use of nail polish and polish remover has damaged them quite badly. And for this reason, I'm glad to see a nail polish that isn't actually bad for your nails. All Dielle nail colours are entirely cruelty-free as the brand don't test on animals.

The Dielle nail colour I have is Restored Treasure* which I happen to believe is the cutest name ever. This colour is a gorgeous metallic gold that is perfect in the summer. The formula is stunning and the polish was opaque in two coats and has remained chip-free for four days so far. Another great thing about this polish is that it's fast drying. I'm someone who paints my nails and then needs the toilet (guilty!) so this is a massive bonus for me. The finish of Restored Treasure is metallic, sparkling and glossy and in the picture above, there's no top coat - it's just glistening away in the sun in all its glory.

At £12.00 a pop, these day polishes don't come cheap. But as mentioned in this review, the formula and finish cannot be argued with. You can view the entire range of Dielle nail colours here. A quick one as well - this is the last day to enter my giveaway so if you haven't done so yet, you can do so here.

Have you tried Dielle nail colours before?

REVIEW: Models Own Artstix Duo Polish in Blibble

With flash

Without flash
Nail art is something that's pretty big at the moment and luckily for you guys, I have a whole load of new nail polishes and nail art products to show you over the next few weeks. First up is this beautiful Artstix Duo Polish* from Models Own. The brand have coordinated their best selling nail polish colours and most popular nail effects to create eight new combinations. The combinations all come with a colour base coat and a special effect top cat. Mine is in the colour Blibble* and it suits me down to a T. The polish itself is Bubblegum which is a bright pink colour and the nail effect is Blizzard which is a chunky silver glitter top coat. I think that this Duo is a really fun combination and it's perfect for summer. The formula of both of these polishes is perfect too - Bubblegum is opaque in one coat and you don't need any more than one coat of Blizzard. These Artstix Duo's retail for £6 and you can buy them here.
Have you tried any of these polishes before? What do you think of them?

Favourite Drug Store Brand.. 17

When I was sorting out my make up collection, I couldn't help but notice that I have quite a lot of 17 make up products. And it got me thinking, I do actually love this brand! Whenever I'm in need of something new, I'll always check out 17 first to see what they have on offer. Also, I must apologise for the first picture, for some reason some 17 products don't like being photographed. And click on the links to see a post that I've wrote about the said product or to find out more information.
17 Va Va Voom Mascara - I'm a big, big fan of this mascara. You can see how volumising it is in my comparison post. It's really lovely and even adds a tiny bit of length. Oh and it doesn't clump up either.
17 Wild Curls Mascara - This mascara is now pretty much gone as I've had it a while but I still keep it because I love the brush for combing through the lashes after I've applied mascara. I remember this mascara being lovely when I used to use it as well, very volumising and curling.
17 Liquid Liner - You only have to see my post and blog posts to know how much I love this eye liner. It's literally changed everything for me and now because of it, I know how to apply eye liner. I cannot recommend it enough. It's easy to work with and lasts throughout the day without the need for a primer.
17 Ultimate Volume Lip Gloss - This is a nice lip gloss that isn't too sticky and lasts pretty well on the lips. It's very glowy and although I'm not a fan of this colour, I definitely want to try some other shades out.
17 Miracle Matte Foundation - My perfect every day foundation. I bought this because I realised that when it comes to every day, I can't keep using expensive high end foundations. And I'm really glad I did. It's medium-buildable coverage that lasts well on the skin and keeps my skin matte all day long.
17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer - The consistency reminds me of GOSH's primer which is lovely and velvety soft. It fills in pores and helps make up to last longer as well. Plus it's one of the cheapest on the market.
17 Glam Rock Eye Palette - This isn't available any more as it was a limited edition product but it's very nice. The colours work well together and they're easily blendable and pigmented.
17 Pressed Powder - I love this powder! It helps to control shine and it also adds a little bit of extra coverage to the skin. I really want to try out the shine-control one as well but it never seems to be in stock.
17 Falsifeye Gel Eye Liner - This gel eye liner is what I use to fill in any gaps that I may have missed with my liquid liner as it's easy to control and use. The only problem is, the colour is an off-black colour and not very pigmented so you have to go over it a few times.
17 Instant Glow Bronzing Powder - One of the very few matte contour shades on the high street and it works very well. It isn't that pigmented which is great for me as I have light skin so it doesn't apply too much product to the skin. It's also free of any orange tones too.
17 Glitter Eye Shadow & 17 Solo Eye Shadow - Lovely eye shadows that are very pigmented; possibly the most pigmented on the high street. They're also very easy to blend and last well without a primer.
17 Hide Away Concealer - I bought this because Collection 2000 didn't have my shade in their Lasting Perfection concealer. It's not as full coverage as the Collection 2000 one but it is lovely. It's very creamy and doesn't dry up on the skin and it's great for underneath the eyes as well.
17 Hide & Chic Eye Brightening Concealer Pen - This concealer is pinky toned which means it's great for underneath the eyes to brighten the eye area up. I also love using it to counteract the redness around my nose.
17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish - The formula of these isn't that great. You do need about 3-4 coats and sometimes, it can apply streaky but the colours are absolutely beautiful.
I also took to the 17 stand when buying my mum's birthday present! What's your favourite high street make up brand? Do you love 17 as much as me?

Glitter Bug!

Models Own has joined forces with Hed Kandi to create a brand new, exclusive collection of nail polishes. They've all been inspired by the party capital of the world; the beautiful Ibiza! This is because this year is Hed Kandi's 10th anniversary on the Balearic island. I was sent the colour Disco Heaven which is a glittery, gold disco bomb! It's exceptionally beautiful and when applied gold, blue, green and purple glitter particles glow away on the nails. Here I used the polish on top of No7's Stay Perfect nail colour in ME!ME!ME! and they both look so beautiful together. At work on Sunday, I got lots of compliments! The pictures really doesn't do the polish justice as it's so much more beautiful in real life.
Do you like this nail colour? Have you been embracing the glitter polish trend recently?

NOTD: Pretty In Papaya

Revlon's Scented Perfume in the colour 315 Pretty in Papaya. The smell of this nail polish is lovely - really fruity. However, I don't see that it has any effect on the polish itself. Purely because you cannot smell the nice scent until the polish is dry.. So if you want to smell it, you'd have to go around sniffing your fingers; not very attractive!

As you can tell in this picture, I haven't cleaned up the edges. This is with two coats and it's pretty opaque. You could definitely get away with one coat if you're in a rush.

What nail polish are you wearing at the moment?

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 6 - Nail Polish

I have been waiting to do this post for a while now, however last month, I saw that Cosmopolitan was including a beautiful nail polish in this months issue so I've been waiting for the magazine to be released.. & I'll tell you know, it's gorgeous!

When it comes to summer, I believe that colour should be embraced. And if you're scared to do a flick of blue on your lips or a pop of red on your lips, nail polish is a safe bet for anyone.

L-R NailGirls #3, Barry M Nail Paint #262, NailGirls #10, Barry M Nail Paint #030 (LE), NailGirls #3 Matte.

These nail polishes definitely have my favourite formulas. All of them apply beautifully, are opaque in one coat and last an awfully long time.
L-R Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Fruit Salad, Nails Inc in Brook Street, Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Dynasty, MissGuided in Misstique, BeYu in #112, 17 Lasting Fix in Orange Soda.

These are the nail polishes that don't have very good formulas (minus the MissGuided one). They apply in streaks, blotch easily, don't last long, use a lot of coats.. But for me, it's the colour that matters. And the colours of these nail polishes are beautiful.
L-R Barry M Nail Paint in #030 (LE), NailGirls #3, NailGirls #3 Matte, NailGirls #10, Barry M #262.
L-R Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Fruit Salad, Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Dynasty, 17 Lasting Fix in Orange Soda, Nails Inc in Brook Street, BeYu #112
And then my favourite choice for summer? MissGuided's nail polish in the colour Misstique! This is free with Cosmopolitan this month.. It's absolutely beautiful and I've only had it a few hours. I'm in love. It applies well, it's opaque, it's bright, it's beautiful and best of all, it's free!

So, these are my choices if you're looking for bright summer nails.. What are yours?
