SUMMER SERIES: Pt 6 - Nail Polish

I have been waiting to do this post for a while now, however last month, I saw that Cosmopolitan was including a beautiful nail polish in this months issue so I've been waiting for the magazine to be released.. & I'll tell you know, it's gorgeous!

When it comes to summer, I believe that colour should be embraced. And if you're scared to do a flick of blue on your lips or a pop of red on your lips, nail polish is a safe bet for anyone.

L-R NailGirls #3, Barry M Nail Paint #262, NailGirls #10, Barry M Nail Paint #030 (LE), NailGirls #3 Matte.

These nail polishes definitely have my favourite formulas. All of them apply beautifully, are opaque in one coat and last an awfully long time.
L-R Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Fruit Salad, Nails Inc in Brook Street, Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Dynasty, MissGuided in Misstique, BeYu in #112, 17 Lasting Fix in Orange Soda.

These are the nail polishes that don't have very good formulas (minus the MissGuided one). They apply in streaks, blotch easily, don't last long, use a lot of coats.. But for me, it's the colour that matters. And the colours of these nail polishes are beautiful.
L-R Barry M Nail Paint in #030 (LE), NailGirls #3, NailGirls #3 Matte, NailGirls #10, Barry M #262.
L-R Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Fruit Salad, Collection 2000 Fast Dry in Dynasty, 17 Lasting Fix in Orange Soda, Nails Inc in Brook Street, BeYu #112
And then my favourite choice for summer? MissGuided's nail polish in the colour Misstique! This is free with Cosmopolitan this month.. It's absolutely beautiful and I've only had it a few hours. I'm in love. It applies well, it's opaque, it's bright, it's beautiful and best of all, it's free!

So, these are my choices if you're looking for bright summer nails.. What are yours?

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 5 - Must Haves

When it comes to summer there's a few must-haves that everyone should own! Here are mine..
Avene Eau Thermale Water Spray
I absolutely love this product mainly because it's incredibly versatile and can be used for virtually anything. For the summer, I'd recommend keeping this in your bag (don't worry, Avene also do a smaller version) to freshen up throughout the day and also cool yourself down. You can see my full review of this product here.
Soap Glory & Hand Food
My favourite hand cream! It smells beautiful (like marshmallows), leaves hands feeling very soft and doesn't leave a nasty residue behind. Like the Avene spray, you can get this in a smaller size so of course, perfect for throwing into your bag! You can see my full review of this product here.
Liz Earle Foot Spritzer
This is so good! You use it on your feet, legs and ankles and it cools the area and fights odour-causing bacteria meaning that your feet stay fresh! I spray this in the morning mostly because it smells beautiful (like mint), wakes me up and makes me feel revitalised, but for summer, definitely carry this around with you to cool your feet down! Also in summer you barely ever wear socks so this is perfect for making sure your feet smell sweet!
Liz Earle Superskin Bust Treatment
Who doesn't want to look good in a bikini? This serum is super light and immediately sinks into the skin. I originally thought that this would take weeks to show results however, I saw results a few minutes after using it! My bust area looked more toned, even and smooth! I haven't been using this long enough yet to see if it has a lasting effect but I will definitely keep your updated! But for now.. it's an amazing quick fix.

Avon Advance Technique Lotus Shield
When my sister came back from university I quickly stole it from her (well, she gave it to me). This is my favourite hair care product ever! Basically this cream helps to block humidity and keeps your hairstyle in place. The heat from the sun in summer really messes up my hair and leaves it frizzy but with this product, my hair stays straight and beautiful all day long! And what's best, this product doesn't weigh hair down or leave a greasy residue! Oh and it also lasts 2 washes! This is a definite must have.
Amplex Natural Deodorant
This deodorant doesn't leave white marks, sticky residue and stops you from sweating.. what more can you say?! You can see my full review of this product here.
Ministry of Waxing Ice Cream
Yes, I've burnt myself since the sun has been showing its face and this product literally works a miracle on sunburn. It instantly cools the burn, soothes it and even heels it! It's definitely worth the expensive price tag. You can see my full review of this product here.
Avene Factor 50+ Mineral Cream
Sun tan lotion is a must have and this one is my favourite. Mineral means that is it good for the skin which is always a bonus but this also sinks in quickly, does the job and doesn't dry the skin out (or make it feel greasy). It's also (light) skin colour so it blends really well and doesn't leave a white cast. I've also used this on my face before and because of its colour I found that it evened my skintone out - perfect!
Liz Earle Spot On
This is definitely a must have in your bag! It works on spot (over or under make up), bites, cuts.. you know it, it heels it! You can see my full review of this product here.

What are your summer must haves? Don't forgot to enter my giveaway!

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 4 - Moisturisers

Hello & welcome to part 4 of my summer series! I thought that I'd talk about my favourite body moisturisers for summer this week! I love moisturisers; there's nothing like having beautifully soft, gorgeous smelling skin.

I don't have dry skin on my body - I'd say it's pretty normal. However, when it comes to summer I love coconut, warm scents that remind me of being on holiday. And typically, these scents are for dry skin. So I look for moisturisers that sink into the skin quickly, leave the skin feeling soft and of course, smelling beautiful!

Dirty Works Coconut Caress Body Butter
This is described as being 'the perfect cocktail' and I agree! I've reviewed a few Dirty Works products before and I must say, they're incredible. For a brand that you purchase from Sainsburys, I didn't have high expectations really but they surpass them. This body butter in particular has a beautiful, coconut scent that takes me right back to being on holiday. The light moisturiser quickly sinks into the skin and coats it in a lovely layer that ensures skin stays moisturised all day long. The packaging is also amazing and reminds me of Soap and Glory - it's very quirky and definitely fits in with the tub. The price is also very nice; a 300ml tub would cost you just £4.99. You can check out the full brand range here.

Boots Extracts Fairtrade Cocoa Butter Body Butter
I absolutely adore this! It's of a more thicker consistency than the Dirty Works one but it still sinks into the skin well. It has a more chocolatey smell than the Dirty Works one and it really makes me want to eat it up! But of course I can't. So instead I smother my body with this and it envelopes my skin with a gorgeous smell that lasts throughout the day. The skin is definitely left moisturised and like I said, it sinks in quickly and lasts a long time. I'd definitely recommend this for more drier skin types. You can find more information about this product here.

Ministry Of Waxing Ice Cream Cooling Lotion
Now this is a must have for summer! This lotion cools your skin after waxing and of course there's going to be a lot of waxing throughout the summer months as you want to ensure your skin is kept hair free. However if you don't wax, this product is wonderful for shaving or any type of hair removal. This lotion eases burning sensations and also keeps the skin hydrated so it stays soft and silky throughout summer. It is scentless but of course, on a product like this you don't really want a scent. It can also be used on sunburn, hair removal, insect bites, spots and eczema! So like I said, this is definitely a must have for summer. I keep it in my bag at all times. And a little tip for you all - pop it in the fridge for an extra cooling sensation! You can find out more about this product here

These are my favourite summer moisturising products.. But what are yours? I'd love to know so leave me a comment or tweet me @bamboozlebeauty!

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 3 - Shimmer/Glowy Products

When the sun starts shining we want to ensure that our skin looks beautiful, glowy and alive right? Well in this weeks Summer Series, I'll be showing you my favourite products to do just that!

If you read my blog often then you'll know that I'm in love with lip products - and this is no exception! It smells of that classic Liz Earle smell and taste's gorgeous too. Just like the Superbalm, this really moisturises the lips and ensures that they're smooth except it has a hint of colour! It has a pink shimmer running throughout it and a sort of iridescent blue shine aswell. It's absolutely gorgeous! It also looks beautiful over lipstick & I've been using it over my MAC Kinda Sexy lipstick which takes the matte finish to a lovely sheen finish. I'd highly highly recommend the Sheer Pink Lip Shimmer not just for the summer, but forever!
Click on the links to take you to the reviews of these products. The He Shi bronzer is perfect for summer, it adds a tan to your skin whilst also subtly highlighting it. As for the Accessorize Merged Blush? I'd highly recommend getting one of these if you haven't already - they're perfect for highlighting/adding colour.

I am in love with Liz Earle's Sheer Gold Shimmer. This can be used anywhere on your body (within reason of course) and it just adds the most beautiful, natural looking glow! I use this on my cheekbones and it really emphasises them without adding chunky glitter and looking tacky. Another Liz Earle product that I'd highly, highly recommend!

L-R Nivea Lip Shine in Natural, Two Body Shop Glitters
The Nivea lipshine is something that I received in a giftset off of my sister for Christmas and it really is something that everyone should have in their make up bags. If you're using a matte lipstick, this immediately makes it look shiny and adds dimension. It's also lovely to use over normal lipsticks incase you want an extra glow.
As for the TBS Glitters, I'm not sure if they do them anymore but you can usually find them around Christmas time/sales. They're really great for adding a dab of glitter in case you have a party. And they're cheap!

This is from Sainsbury's bodycare range and you can see some other products of theirs that I tried out here. This smells absolutely incredible! On the powder puff, the glitter looks very chunky and like it's going to look tacky. But as you can see from the swatch, it doesn't. It adds a lovely subtle glow for the skin and I've even been using it on my cheekbones to lightly highlight.

I adore all of these products and if you're like me and love a glow when it comes to summer then I highly recommend you checking a few out!
Has anyone tried any of these? Any other recommendations or just comments/questions? Let me know!

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 2 - Haircare

Hello & welcome to part 2 of my summer series (how formal)!
So, this part of the series is dedicated to hair care. I suppose I should mention that all of these products work for me. I have oily, fine hair and although these products work for me, they might not particularly work for you. However, I have included products that I believe will suit all hair types. Now that's out the way, let's get on with it!

L-R Umberto Giannini Glam Hair Tousled Salt Spray, Fudge Urban Texturising Spray, Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Split End Protection Cream, L'Oreal Kids Tangle Tamer, Fudge Urban Instant Smoothie.

I chose to include 2 salt sprays in this post just because I cannot choose between them! The two I chose are Umberto Giannini's Tousled Salt Spray and Fudge Urban's Sea Salt Spray.. Both of these create beautiful beachy waves that are perfect for the summer when your hair is getting enough heat damage from the sun! They're both incredible quick and easy to use however, the Fudge Urban one definitely works better than Umberto Giannini's on dry hair - so if you're looking for a salt spray to use on dry hair, definitely go for Fudge Urban one. They both don't make my hair greasy, don't dry it out, hold the style all day and brush out easily. Also, the Urban Fudge smells like summer, coconuts etc so it's more fitting with the theme!

I also included my favourite Herbal Essences Split End Protection Cream. When you're taking holiday snaps, you want to make sure that your hair looks beautiful and those nasty split ends will make your hair look yucky and unhealthy so this is a must! I also added L'Oreal Kids Tangle Tamer because if your hair is like mine then as soon as your hair touches water, it becomes knotty. This helps to ease the knots and also leaves hair smelling gorgeous!

You must know that horrible feeling when you leave the house with beautifully straight, frizz free hair  and as soon as you hit the sunshine, your hair turns into a huge frizz ball thanks to the humidity? Well that's no more with Fudge Urban's Instant Smoothie. Like the salt spray, this also smells gorgeous and like summer so it's guaranteed to get you in the mood! But of course, the smell isn't everything. This product actually performs. The idea of this is to lightly spray your hair after straightening, brush through and wella, beautiful frizz free hair. I honestly thought that it was too good to be true. But it really isn't! A few light sprays of this and you're good to go for the rest of the day. It really is becoming my daily staple and I wouldn't be without it. My hair is kept looking sleek and straight throughout the day - and it doesn't make my hair greasy or flat!

L-R TommyGuns Climate Control Styling Spray, TommyGuns Clever Curls & Waves Texture Spray

My two final products are by TommyGuns and this includes the Climate Control Spray which I mentioned here. This is perfect for the English weather when you cannot guarantee what the weather will bring you. Also, I've been trying out TommyGuns Clever Curls & Waves Texture Spray. This is like a salt spray but you can create two looks from this. Waves or curls.. and also a lot of texture. I love using this when my hair is up in a ponytail - it makes my ponytail look huge! Anyway, this product is wonderful; it isn't drying, it doesn't make hair greasy and it smells beautiful. You can use this on wet or dry hair.. if you leave your hair to dry naturally, you'll get gorgeous beachy waves however, if you blowdry your hair with this on, you'll get beautiful curls!

These are the products I'd recommend for summer time. What are you favourite summer hair products?

SUMMER SERIES: Pt 1 - Swimwear

Going on holiday?
Then your number 1 nessecity is swimwear. Of course, if you're going on a hiking holiday then I guess swimwear wouldn't be top of your list. But if you are then here's my pick of the best from the highstreet (and if you're not, then I guess they're still lovely to look at!)

River Island:

H&M
Bottoms £7.99, Top £9.99

New Look

Next

I did look at Topshop's range of swimwear and to be honest, I was let down. I felt that they were all a bit plain and like something you'd find in Primark but for triple the price? Oh well.. the ones I've featured are gorgeous!

What are your favourite swimwear pieces out there at the moment? Do you already have your swimwear ready and waiting?
