OOTN: Fairies

On Wednesday night, me and my friends went out dressed as fairies so I thought I'd show you my make up and outfit of the night. I wanted to go out as a gothic fairy as I have a dark purple lipstick that I've wanted to us for ages. On my eyes I used Urban Decay's Gunmetal and on the lid and Creep in the crease and underneath my eyes. I then used Sin as a highlighter in the inner corners of my eyes and on the brow bone. My eye liner is Collection 2000's Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner and I also used KIKO's Vivid Eyes* on my water line. I used Lancome's Hypnose Drama mascara Ardell's false eyelashes in 101. The lipstick I used was Gosh's Velvet Touch lipstick in Amethyst. The dress I wore is from New Look and my blazer is from Tesco. I must also apologise for my skin on the second picture - on Wednesday it still hadn't heeled from my reaction but now I'm proud of report that it's 100% healed and I'll be posting a "Skin Saviour" post very soon. I hope that you've all had a good week!

CHRISTMAS: Tesco

I have a lot more Christmas gift guides coming up so for every day this week, you'll be getting a Christmas gift guide, I hope you enjoy them :) You can find all of my Christmas gift guides here. Tesco is a great place to pick up Christmas gifts in my opinion. You can throw a few in your trolley as you're doing your food shop and they have some great quality gems in their collection.
I have two gift sets from Tesco's extensive Christmas gift shop to show you today and one of these in particular is truly wonderful. But you see the rest of Tesco's gift sets here.
Along Came Betty Shower Must-Haves* is just £4.69 and it comes with everything you need to relax and unwind in the bath including shimmering bath crystals, cream bath, a shimmering body lotion, a body polish and a hair band with a bow to keep your hair off of your face. The packaging is beautiful and reminds me of Soap & Glory as it's very vintage looking and chic. The products themselves also carry a smell that is very similar to the Soap & Glory classic scent which is very beautiful and girly. The only problem that I have with this set is that it comes with bath crystals and a cream bath... I don't believe that you need them both and a shower gel instead of one of the two would have been a better idea but that's just my personal preference! I think this gift set is great for young girls who are just starting to pamper themselves.
The Boho Spa Shower Set* retails for £6.70 and my god, I adore this gift set. This comes with 3 luxurious shower gels in different scents; Spicy Vanilla & Tiare Petal, Oriental Jasmine & Pink Raspberry and Sea Fennel & Pearl. The bottles are beautiful; tall, black and gold coloured caps which easily dispense the shower gel out of the bottle and the floral designs are truly gorgeous. The shower gels themselves are exceptionally good quality. They're hydrating and lather up well but the best thing is the smells are so gorgeous. I literally love every single scent and each one of them is completely different. I've used one of these every day since receiving the set and I've already got my eye on the other gifts in the range. I really, really wish that they sold these shower gels separately as I don't think I can shower without them! I'll just have to stock up on enough gift sets to last me the whole year! I'd recommend this gift set for every female in your life. It's seriously stunning.
Have you tried any of these products? What do you think about Tesco for Christmas gifts?

FASHION: Recent Purchases

When I got my student loan, I thought I'd treat myself to a few new clothing pieces. So I went onto eBay (my addiction) and typed in "fit and flare" and then "peplum dress" and these are what I ended up winning!
From left to right.
FIRST: The top is from Warehouse and I got it a couple of Christmases ago in Debenhams after my dad bought me a shopping experience there. It's so pretty and it's very versatile. It can be worn in summer, winter, with jeans, with a skirt, during the day, at night. I absolutely love it and I find myself wearing it all the time. The skirt is then from eBay and it was an absolute bargain at £4.49. Yes, it's from Hong Kong so it takes a little while to come but it's worth it. It's not the best quality but for less than £5, what are you expecting? It's beautiful, flattering and I adore it. You can find this skirt here. The necklace is from Tally and Hoe which I've blogged about before here. The necklace I'm wearing is the Scissors & Comb necklace* which is one of my favourites!
SECOND: The green dress is yet again from eBay. When I was bidding on it, I didn't see a brand name but I really didn't care to be honest. And even now, I'm unaware of what brand it is but it's such a pretty colour and cut that it just doesn't bother me. I've never been one for brand names and as long as I like it, the brand name definitely doesn't matter. This dress is peplum style around the backs and sides and at the front, it cuts away from the peplum style. I would say it's kind of a futuristic dress which is cute but what drew me towards it was definitely the colour. So pretty! The necklace in this outfit is one that my dad bought me for Christmas a really long time ago. It's a beautiful silver drop down necklace and I really love it. It was from Debenhams but I highly doubt they still have it in there as it is pretty old.
THIRD: And finally (almost) the pink dress is once again from eBay. This is a brand name and this is from BooHoo. I've had a look on the website but unfortunately, they no longer sell it. Once again what drew me to this was the colour. Pink is my favourite colour but ever since becoming a 'teenager' or even an 'adult' I just don't seem to buy pink clothes - probably because I think I'll look like a little girl. But I couldn't resist this dress. It's a bright pink, a very bright pink which shows off my newly spray tanned body (post coming soon) and yet again, it's a peplum style dress. This time, it's a full peplum dress and it also has black netting around the top.
The only things I don't like about the top in the first picture and the two dresses is that they don't have sleeves in them and seeing as I don't like my arms, it's not a good thing for me. But it's nothing that my beautiful, white blazer from Tesco can't fix! I'd been after a white blazer for a ridiculously long time and I walked past this in Tesco, saw it was £10 and very quickly bought it. I wear it on pretty much every night out. I love it so much. Finally the shoes (which are dirty and for some reason I didn't think to clean them before taking the pictures) are from New Look and I've had them a good few months now. They're the only heels I ever wear as they're comfy, easy to walk in and go with pretty much anything. These were really cheap when I bought them and when I looked on the New Look website I noticed that they're now in the sale and they're only £12. You can view these shoes here.
Have you ever used eBay for buying clothes?

FASHION: Freshers Week Outfits

Seeing as it's Freshers Week this week (eeeeek) I thought I'd show you the outfits that I'll (more than likely) be wearing. Some are new, some are oldish. I'm still trying to find a place in my new flat with good lighting so I can take better outfit shots so do bare with me until I've found that. The shot of the outfit on its own is more to show you the colour whereas the shot of me wearing the outfit is more to show you the fit.
This skirt has become a staple in my wardrobe and although it's more for day time wear, I wanted to find a nice top so I could wear it out. I went into Primark and fell in love with this top. It has a gorgeous Peter Pan collar and the print is really cute. I also love the dainty material and the way it falls.
I've been wanting a white blazer for a long time now but I'd never saw one that fit my budget. Until I was walking around Tesco and spotted this one that was on sale for just £10. I quickly bought it and I'm so excited to wear it during Freshers Week. This dress is one that I bought the other week and I've fallen in love with it. It fits so nicely and it's really comfortable and flattering on my figure.
I wore this for my last university night out a few months back and since then, I haven't had the opportunity to wear it. But I do really love it. It fits beautifully and really pulls me in at the waist. It's also very comfortable and easy to wear. The only problem is it does make me feel a little bit insecure around the chest area as sometimes it falls down so I definitely need to invest in some tape!
I bought this for my holiday a few months ago and I loved the fit of it. It's a fit and flare dress which as you can probably tell, is my favourite. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it's sleeveless and considering I hate my arms, this isn't a good thing. So I've thrown the blazer over the top and I've fallen back in love with it. It's nice and easy to wear and it's very comfortable too.
I blogged about this earlier this year and I still love it. I bought it because I saw Britney wearing it and to be honest, I had no intention of wearing it. But the colour is so beautiful and the style of the dress is stunning. I do feel insecure in this sometimes but I'm starting to go to the gym next week so hopefully by the time Freshers Week arrives I'll be nice and slimmed up for this.
I love, love, love the colour of this! Once again, I don't wear it very often due to the fact that my arms are out but I love the colour so much that I'm going to brave wearing it in Freshers Week. I will put a belt around the middle though. Maybe brown, maybe black. I'm not too sure yet. This dress is currently on offer in New Look for just £10.
Blazer - F&F at Tesco, Dress - Primark, Leggings - eBay
This last outfit is one that I'm unsure whether or not I'm going to wear. I love the leggings but they're so uncomfortable to wear as when you go out it's really hot and these just seem to conduct heat and leave your legs all sweaty. And the dress is way too short to wear without them. So I'm not sure if I want to wear it yet.
Which outfit is your favourite?

FATHERS DAY: Other Gifts

I posted a beauty fathers day post yesterday and today is the final in the 'series' and these are just a few extras for you.
My dad absolutely loves reading - especially autobiographies. But these books are a little different to what he'd normally read. The Top 10 of London - £10.00* is so interesting. It features literally everything to do with a London and presents it into a top 10 list. For example 'top 10 oldest hotels,' 'top 10 retail centres in London' and 'top 10 film sets in London.' It's a great read and if you're obsessed with London like I am, this is a must! I personally think my dad is a great cook and he enjoys cooking and barbecues so if your dad is like mine then Weber's Barbeque Anytime - £15.99* will be perfect for him. Every recipe is illustrated and the instructions are pretty simple too. The recipes are great and they're things that you wouldn't think to try out on a barbecue.
If you're planning a splurge then I'd definitely recommend the Classic Aviator’s Men's Watch by BOSS Black - £275*. This watch is so beautiful. When I first held it in my hand I was amazed by how stunning it really is. It also feels very sturdy so you know that for the price, it's going to be very good and you're going to get your money's worth.
Mugs! You can't really go wrong with mugs and I really like these two. Both mugs retail for just £3.52 each.
And of course, cards. I personally love the one in the middle. My dad is a big Northern Soul lover and when he was younger he had lots of records so the middle card is wonderful. Card prices from L-R £1.50, £2.00, £2.00.
What are you getting your dad for fathers day/how are you celebrating??

FATHERS DAY: Beauty Products

Fathers Day is just around the corner (17th June) so I thought I'd do a couple of posts recommending gifts for you. I feel that Fathers Day is neglected often and the focus is mainly put onto Mothers Day but remember, your dad is just as important! So here are my recommendations...
Kyoku is a range that is designed specifically for men. It incorporates ancient Japanese knowledge of natural extracts such as Ginseng, Green Tea Leaf, Bamboo, Chamomile and Avocado Oil with up to the minute scientific research.
The Kyoku Oil Control Lotion - £43.00* is for men with oily skin. It contains dual-action micro-particles which reduce shine on the skin whilst also keeping it fully hydrated. It also helps combat spots and contains SPF 15 to protect the skin from harmful UV rays.
The Kyoku Daily Facial Cleanser - £19.00* is powerful enough to clean away dirt and oil that is deep beneath the skin's surface but it's also gentle enough to use every day. It combats the appearance of dark circles, adds moisture and protects your skin from the effects of temperature and pressure whilst also preventing irritation.
The Kyoku Razor Repair Balm - £29.00* is for those who find that shaving is irritating their skin. It's specially formulated to combat irritation, redness and dryness that shaving causes after every shave. It not only does all of this but it also smooths the skin texture and calms redness.
I love the packaging of these products. You can tell that they're very gender specific but they also look classy and high end (which they are). I love the smells as well.. they're not overpowering, they're just nice and manly.
The Weleda range is free from synthetic additives including fragrance, artificial colour or preservatives and these products are made without raw materials derived from mineral oils. They're also not tested on animals.
The Weleda After Shave Balm - £13.95* is a soothing and calming balm which refreshes the skin whilst moisturising it as well. It helps to sustain the skin's natural oils and Chamomile and Myrrh sooth the skin. It's also cooling and protects the skin from dryness, leaving it soft and supple.
The Weleda Smooth Shave Toner - £13.95* can be using before or after a wet or dry shave. It tightens the skin and makes the hair stand up which results in an easier shave. It also soothes and tones the skin whilst disinfecting any small cuts.
Once again, I love the gender specific packaging and also the scent. I also think that these are a really good price as you get a lot of product.
I truly love the Wilko's shower creams and since attending their event, I've been in to Wilko's to pick a few up for myself. However when it comes to men, I'm sure they don't want sweet, strawberry scents. So I'd recommend the Wilko Minty Shower Cream - £1.00* and the Wilko Tropical Coconut Shower Cream - £1.00* (or two for £1.50). These both smell absolutely beautiful and I've had to keep the coconut one away from my sister as she's obsessed. The scent lingers on the skin and because they're a shower cream, they moisturise the skin as well.
I've tried Pro Activ before and I'm a big fan! You can see my reviews of these products here so I won't go into too much detail but I really love them. They're gentle and are great for combating acne and spots. They also help with acne scarring as well which is wonderful and it's impossible to get spots without them leaving marks. You can buy the Pro Activ set here.
What man doesn't want aftershave? I was instantly attracted to this because of the vintage TV box. I've smelt this before and it's really love. I'm useless as describing scents so I'll just say.. go and smell it! This is the Diesel Fuel for Life gift set - £35.

MAC Warm Thunder Dupe for just £8!

Last year, Barbara Daly launched a new range of beautiful eye shadows that were exclusive to Tesco. These were their Satin Swirl eye shadows which were named for their beautiful, swirled design and satin soft texture. To rival these, MAC has just launched their own version named the Extra Dimension eye shadow - these are priced at £16.50 each!
Here you can see Barbara Daly's Satin Swirl eye shadow in Cinder Shine* applied to my eyes. It's such a beautiful silver that's very easy to apply and blend. I only used a small amount on my eyes above and built up the intensity towards the outer corner as it was for day. It lasted throughout the day perfectly.
I really love the close up picture as you can really see how wonderful this colour is. It's a lovely gunmetal silver that has such beautiful shimmer running through it.

And above are the dupes. Barbara Daly also do 7 shades called Crystal, Oyster, Rose Lace, Whirl, Twilight, Sequins and Taupe Ripple, all priced at just £8.
Have you tried these before?

I'm Lovin' It!

Hey guys!
Sorry that I've been absent recently. I've been really busy sorting out university things and also holiday things as next Tuesday, I'm going abroad - really excited! So I thought I'd show you a few products that I'm currently loving.
This rich body butter is perfect for dry skin sufferers. I've had a bad couple of weeks recently where the skin on my legs and ankles has been pretty dry and this body butter has solved all of my problems. It melts into the skin effortlessly and doesn't take long to completely sink in. It also smells absolutely beautiful - and the scent lingers! The tub is 300ml which is huge for the price!

Denise McAdam Moisture Master Intensive Moisture Masque - £3.50 [Tesco]
If you follow me on Twitter then you'll probably know that when I returned home from camping my hair had suffered badly. It was awfully dry which for me, was a shock considering my hair is usually oily. This hair masque saved my hairs life. You apply it for 2-3 minutes, rinse it off and wella! Perfect hair in an instant. After using this just once, my hair had restored to its natural form and it was full of life and glowing. I now use this 2-3 times a week!

I love this product so much! It smells gorgeous - like Bakewell Tarts. This handcream also sinks into the hands pretty quickly which makes it perfect for when I'm driving. I do love the packaging.. very vintage and pretty. However, I wish Burt's Bees' did a smaller version that I could keep in the car. Don't worry though, I did decant some into a smaller tub so I always have it. My favourite handcream.

Skin Wisdom Instant Benefits Eye Roll On - £7.00 [Tesco]
I've always found it hard to find the 'perfect' eyecream. My eyes do get small bags under them and sometimes, they're hard to conceal with concealer alone. This eye roll on however works instantly. It cools the eyes and leaves them looking fresh and awake. I wouldn't be without it.

Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast - [Superdrug]
You know I love lip balms right? Well this one is now my all time favourite. It's highly moisturising and gets rid of chapped lips straight away. Yet the best thing about this lip balm is the taste. Oh my, it tastes beautiful. Just like raspberries and lemonade - ha! Amazing. I carry it with me everywhere.

I reviewed this product here and yes, I'm still loving it. My #1 foundation at the moment!

This pressed powder really does seem magical. It contains different coloured dots [see picture below] which all merge together to not only mattify the skin but also to conceal.  It brightens the complexion, dulls redness, conceals skin discolouration, camouflages yellow & pallid skin and also covers under and over eye areas. It really is that magically. The compact is pretty big and flimsy but it does contain a huge mirror which is a big bonus!
I've gone back to my favourite concealer! This concealer is so cheap yet it has full coverage and a lot of pigmentation. It covers everything. My go-to concealer. I cannot praise it enough. Oh and it lasts all day.

Barbara Daly Lash Boost Mascara [Black] - £6.75 [Tesco]
I tweeted about this mascara whilst I was on holiday. I went in the sea and this mascara did not budge. I find that incredible. I honestly couldn't believe it! This mascara lengthens, thickens and curls my lashes and since I've been using it I have noticed that my lashes have become stronger.

Barbara Daly Eye Liner Polish [Dramatic Black] - [Tesco]
I find it really hard to use gel/cream eyeliners however, this one is perfect. It's really pigmented, glides onto the eye area and doesn't move until it's removed. Once again, I can't praise it enough. It's just perfect.

Barbara Daly Lash Boost Mascara [Black]
